I had high hopes for this place and I want to see it succeed but I was completely disappointed. This Friday, my best friend and I walked in and the DJ was trying to mix Led Zeppelin's Black Dog. It was a terrible attempt, it is sacrilegious to mess with a song like that, to try and remix it. That was the first offense. The 2nd, my friend asked the bartender for a Black and Tan. The look on her face was disheartening. We might as well have asked her how to synthesize a methylated alkaloid. But at least she was nice and polite. The third offense, we head outside to their "beer garden"...at least it was. When it was Handle Bars their beer garden was nice and they had a beautiful koi fish pond. Now, the pond isn't what it was, the water is covered with algae, the water is stagnant and a breeding ground for mosquitoes and it reeks. And finally, the last offense, my favorite beer is Blue Moon, which they had until our second round came up. My best friend had to get me another beer because the bar had ran out of Blue Moon. That one hurt. After that 2nd round, we left. Will I return? I don't know. This wasn't a good start. To be clear, I want to see Crown and Eagle succeed but if what I saw on Friday is the norm, it will fail. However, the management at Crown and Eagle can turn it around. Please accept this input as constructive criticism. They have a good bartender there, Crystal. She could be instrumental with instructing the bartenders in knowledge and service. The DJ has to go or change his ways ie: do not remix classic rock songs if you don't know how. Thirdly, keep up the stock of beers, however, if one brand runs out, then the bartender can recommend another comparable beer, but the bartenders need to learn that. And lastly, if the up keep of the koi fish pond is too much, get rid of it. Don't let the smell and stagnant mosquito infested water take away from the beautiful patio outside. Thank you for...
Read moreI’ll tell you I’ve been going there for almost 4 years. I thought the people were cool and I trusted everyone. 3 times that I’ve been they have accused me of not paying my tab or not giving enough cash. Granted I used to only pay with card. So thinking I messed up and being the nice guy I am. I pay the tab again or give more money. Well after 3 times I figure out it’s not me. Idk why they want to take advantage of even their regulars. Even when you pay for another person and the other person sees you pay both tabs. They have no shame to lie and come up and say you didn’t pay. They said I only payed one tab but admit I gave 70 for an 8 dollar tab. The girl vouged for me and said I paid both tabs but I gave even more money. Look take the money, I won’t be coming back. Also before that they stole my debit card too and acted like I didn’t give it to you to...
Read moreSo as time goes on I have become completely disappointed with this little bar. I have had incorrect bar tabs before here and other places but, have never had a problem with the staff correcting the mistake. Until this past Friday! Not only did we catch waitress jacking up the tab, some of the staff got to the point of wanting to fight with us because, we told the waitress she had to fix the tab. She not only argued about it but was more looking for problems. Such a shame that Friday crew ruined our little hang out of years. My wife and our friends would usually go on Wednesdays or Thursdays, whichever our work gave us time to enjoy. Oh well, crown and eagle just lost...
