Came to try this place for the first time. Ordered a fish soup. It was a medium bowl with a few pieces of fish and a few pieces of vegetables. The price for this soup was $11.25. The service was also poor as the only lady was more focused on mopping the floor. They also only serve you on bowl of tostadas and if you ask for more they will chat you for them. No wonder the place was empty when I walked in.

Went to the Tejano restaurant on Zaragoza Tuesday night, ordered a large campechana to go for my daughter, on Wednesday I called La Playita and ordered a large campechana for my son, the small cup is from La Playita, more expensive than the bigger one from El Tejano. Both are large, what a ripoff, never going back.

Horrible experience, its call ceviche , but its more likely a lettuce salad no shrimp at all , so disappointed 😞 for $15 dollars i could of gone to McDonald's.

Bad Service / Long Wait / Out of Menu Items

The very WORST service I've ever received in my entire life!

My sister works up the street at the police substation, so we decided to try out La Playita on her lunch break yesterday. The building is very small, but cute. When we got there, all of the available tables hadn't been cleared off yet. We stood there in the doorway for 5 minutes before a waitress asked if we'd like her to clear a spot? We said yes and thanked her. We sat down, put in our order for 2 shrimp cocktails and a plate of garlic fish, then waited. I had also asked for oysters, but the waitress said they were out of them, not a big deal though. My sister and I were talking and catching up, so we didn't realize how much time had passed. It had already been 30 minutes, before we noticed that the waitress never came back. We saw the standard chips-and-salsa on all the other tables, but she never brought us anything. Keep in mind, it's a tiny restaurant, so we didn't think she could forget about us, so the only explanation was that she decided not to serve us. I can't even imagine why since we were so nice to her. It was unbelievable. I was so outraged! We saw her bring food out to people that came in after we did. We had no choice but to leave because we wasted almost 40 minutes at this place and my sister had to be back at work in 20 minutes. Even if we complained, there wouldn't have been enough time for them to make us something at this point and get her back to work on time. The whole experience was AWFUL. We will NEVER go back, and it's sad because I love Mexican seafood and it was so close by her...

Came here on lent Friday and my experience was the worst ever. Services by the waitress was lousy, she seemed very rushed and was very abrupt in her demeanor. When my aunt and I were served, we were given the wrong order and when I mentioned this to the waitress she said it was ok. Then I simply returned my fish soup. Once she brought my son’s food, the baked potatoe had a hair in it, when I returned, the waitress said it was a very small hair. Although all these errors from the waitress I felt like they shouldn’t have charged us for anything, just like any other decent business would. Once I paid for the shrimp cocktail for my aunt which she also bought in the wrong size but still charged me, the waitress went on a rant as to why she had so many errors blaming the lack of help, which in my taste was very unprofessional. I can say I will never return to this place, horrible service, and the food wasn’t...

Food is amazing what bothered me is that Texas mandated mask indoors already and a few people walked in with no mask. After asking the cashier that speaks English she said it always fight. So what your saying is that her as a employee is not filling the law. As I walked I told the daughter n mother are you guys going to put your mask indoor? And their reply was you don’t work here and we know the lady she could tell us something and as regulars if that’s the case they should be considering about The Playita’s customers!!!! COVID is serious and I don’t take it well having a restaurant not enforcing the mask after telling the cashier that the regular said well she needs to come tell me she acted as she did and said to ignore me. Even if you 6 feet apart from people indoors MASK ARE SUPPOSE TO...
