I had been coming here for many many years and last night will be the last. You have lost a regular customer along with the family. Slowly within the last two years this place has gone down hill. The food is great but the service is awful. I got there 40 minutes before they closed, only one other table. So as my daughter and I walked in the older lady told us, “Come in, sit anywhere.” So we proceeded and were about to sit then a waitress said , not there, we are going to clean that side...first mistake, I let it slide.. sat down and asked the waitress for a beer and a water with lemon. It took 10 minutes, mistake #2. The waitress walked by and said , “I’m so sorry, I forgot you were here!” Really?? So again, forgiven. She runs out with our drinks and asks if we are ready to order. No lemon.. ran out, really?? We gave her our order and I also ordered some items for takeout. I asked if I should order the take out now or when I’m done eating. She asked if I could order my takeout as well since the kitchen closes at 9. So I went ahead and did...I get my miso soup... it was not hot... it was room temperature.. I did not complain!!! I got my stuffed jalapeños as an appetizer which ended being 2 jalapeños cut in half I thought just to notice that 1 of the 4 halves didn’t even have a jalapeño in it!! I did not complain at this either!! We received our bento plate, it was good, but then the famous dirty mop and bucket of Clorox came into the dining area and it smelled of strong chemicals. My eyes were burning and that’s all I could smell. I could not smell my food anymore just harsh chemicals. I politely asked the waitress to remove the bucket away from me and she did but looked bothered . I could still smell the chemicals and it just made the dinner experience Terrible. And lastly, my takeout was wrong. So did they try to correct it? No because the kitchen was closed. So I had to leave part of the order that was wrong and just took the 2 rolls. And don’t think they waited to clean the floors, they proceeded to clean the floors while we were there and the other family... so to the owners of Hamachi, Do not do this!! This is very bad manners!! It’s disgusting to see a dirty mop swaying back and forth on the floor and smell this while customers are eating! Wait until all customers are gone!! This is not only rude, but make someone sick... so I won’t be back.. the sushi chefs I will miss but not the terrible service and forgetfulness to remember that you have customers at your establishment, this is why your numbers...
Read moreI have been going to Hamachi for over five years. I’ve always loved it. The sushi is pretty good. Though, the last few times I have been there the staff has been extremely rude. Tonight was no different. We had a family dinner tonight to celebrate my moms birthday. We got there at around 745. Food took a while to come out. Our plates came out at around 830. I was fine with it since the restaurant was pretty busy. Our waitress acted like our presence was a burden. It was 840 when the two waitresses brought out the mop buckets and started mopping around us and the rest of the people in the restaurant. I couldn’t even enjoy my food because of the smell of chemicals. Then, the waitresses just stood around us staring at us. Never once asked if we needed refills or asked if we needed anything. Our waitress was wearing blue plastic gloves as she was mopping the floor and cleaning tables. She peered over at our table so my dad asked if he could have a refill of water. She just walked away and came back with a half full glass of water, no ice and still wearing those dirty gloves full of chemicals as she handed my dad the glass. VERY SANITARY Hamachi. He couldn’t even drink the water. At 9, one of the waitresses asked for our cards so that she could close out our bill. We were not even done eating. There were other people also being asked for their cards. I was so angry. As I walked out, I told the woman in the front that I felt it was very rude to start mopping the restaurant while customers were still there and that I felt that we were being rushed out. She just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. We were out in the parking lot before 910. Other customers still inside being stared down. The restaurant sign says they close at 9. So does that make it okay to make your customers feel uncomfortable throughout their dinner so that you guys could leave early?? NEVER...
Read moreSushi is something I enjoy when I can, usually when I come to visit my aunt in El Paso. And my aunt and I's usual spot wasn't as up to par as it usually was. So we decided to go check this place out, since it's close to her house. It's a small little place that's very casual, and yet there's that slight ambience that you notice--due to the decor of paintings and pictures of their various items. I ordered their "Sushi B" combo, which was a California roll with eight pieces of nigiri. My aunt ordered a Philadelphia roll. The miso soup we enjoyed was actually not too hot and not too cold. And a nice touch was that we each got our own hot tea pot. Our food arrived pretty quick. The California roll was done very well (it can be something that can be messed up easily), but it could have used a little more avocado. And my nigiri sushi was tasty, if looking a little messy. My aunt enjoyed her Philadelphia roll, which is what she usually gets when we have sushi. I am giving a little lower rating than I usually do because of the fact that there were only two waitresses working, and that one of them should have let us know that we had to go up to the front to pay our ticket. That's my only little quibble. We ended up paying $26 for our meal; it would have been a lot more back at our usual place. Will we go back there again if we want sushi or to try one of their noodle dishes? I think so. Hopefully there will be more...
