I came to have dinner with my family today (Tuesday, December 12) around 6:00pm. I enjoy coming here for dinner but today I experienced the worst service ever. My server was a guy don’t know his name because first of all he didn’t introduce himself and neither did he have a name tag on. We started off with some coffee (which was very cold) told the server and he asked another coworker how can I just reheat this up as he walks away like are you kidding me? Why is it such a bother to brew some fresh coffee???We had ordered a appetizer to start off with and asked for some small plates and never brought them and his excuse was he had to put another order in so he didn’t get the time too bring them. We then ordered our entrees and when they brought them out my friend ordered a burger with SWISS cheese and was brought the burger with American cheese. Then we were also missing our pancakes that we had asked for not ONCE but SIX TIMES we had to ask the lady from the front to see what was going on with the pancakes and she brought it to our table and the pancakes were EXTREMELY COLD we had also asked for some refills, and some salsa and ranch to eat our meals with and he would forget every time he would walk by our table. At that point our meals were extremely cold keep in mind we were still waiting for our refills we bad to ask someone else because he clearly couldn’t take the task to be a server. He came to check on our table once we were ready to pay and had the audacity to say is everything okay? He definitely needs more training and if he isn’t able to keep up with a few tables then I don’t think he should be a server because it wasn’t even busy and if it was a server should be able to keep up but he couldn’t so you guys should put him as a buzzer or a host. HE NEEDS...

Quality has gone down since my initial review 5 years ago.

I had several issues on my most recent visit. We were sat at a booth - with multiple visible dead flies in the window sill. The restaurant was not busy - it goes to show the lack of attention management and staff pay here. Im not trying to bash but this place needs to really improve and start cleaning properly.

We asked to move seats and then got sat another table. Coffee cups and cutlery are usually there waiting for you. I turned my “clean” cup over and it was also dirty with visible leftover coffee. Yikes. Strike 2 in one visit.

Moving along..

We order our food and I asked specifically for my yolk to be runny and it was served fully cooked through. Then came strike 3 ….my pancakes were served and had someone’s hair in them. I had to walk back to the kitchen to get someone’s attention and discreetly let them know what I had discovered.

I will say my server was very nice and professional, I personally give her 5 stars. But whoever runs things on the back end really needs to tighten the reigns here. The lack of cleanliness can lead to someone getting sick.

3 different things on one visit is actually quite scary guys. There is always multiple staff hanging out in one booth chatting or hovering in a corner chatting. Use your time wisely and clean this restaurant and start retraining your staff accordingly. Too much is being overlooked.

I wont be returning but I really hope for the sake of future patrons you all take this seriously and get it together. You show up and get paid to WORK. So please do so before someone falls ill due to...

When we first arrived here in El Paso we went here for breakfast and it was fantastic. The food, the staff was all wonderful. Our 2nd, 3rd and 4th visit were equally wonderful.....then it all went downhill. The food is still amazing but the staff was not.... can we say disinterested in their customers? A place can have great food, great prices, etc but when you have staff that ignores you, goes out of their way to avoid doing refills on drinks, to take our orders... yeah, it leaves a huge distaste in one's mouth. I'd love for this restaurant to return to having their staff care again about their customers so I can give this restaurant a 5 Star rating that it really should have but until then, inspite of good quality food, I have to give it 2 Stars and even then I am being generous.

May 2018 We decided to give this restaurant another chance. This time the service was excellent! As always the food was fantastic. It was like all of the employees had had a 360 turn-around. We were seated within minutes and our server was very attentive. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Keep up the good work Village Inn, my family...

Sigh... what did I expect? More and better, I guess. My bad. I went with a party of six at a fairly slow time, and our experience was just... Ok. The food was OK, the service was OK, and overall it was just "meh." The potatoes in my skillet were that soft/hard texture where they were cooked outside but not really inside, and they definitely weren't crispy fried like these things usually are. Eggs were overcooked. Bacon was good. Sausage was extra salty. Pancakes were dry and stiff. And I didn't get a refill until nearly the end of the meal. My wife ordered some kind of cross-something-omelette, and it was so horrifyingly bad that I forgot both the actual name and to take a picture. Avoid at all costs. Otherwise... maybe stick to the lunch menu. Their chicken ranch sandwich is usually good at other locations.

Edit: Came for breakfast today and we were sat right away. However, it took a whole hour for us to receive our food. After waiting for an entire hour to get our food we expected it to at least be hot and that wasn’t the case. Our food was served cold. Not only was the cold food and the long wait a bad experience but also the dirty dishes. My spoon and fork were dirty and my coffee cup had lipstick. I was grossed out. Im not at all a breakfast person but when I have to eat it I prefer Village Inn. They have lots of variety to include Mexican breakfasts like menudo, chorizo skillet and huevos rancheros. The coffee is usually hot and strong.

Visited village inn Sunday 5/14/23 for breakfast arrived at 7:30 am and place was pretty busy but was able to be seated in 5 mins shortly after we sat the tables were all full. Unlimited menudo is available, but the juice doesn't have any flavor or spice to it, in my opinion. Bland. I ordered a skillet, but since I am following the keto diet right now, I have the potatoes on the side. Potatoes were very mushy just by the look. Food came out pretty quickly. The server was prompt and polite. It was average. I'm not sure I'll go back anytime soon. $35 for two before tip.
