I have been to this establishment with my family on six occasions when there have been many patrons to a few patrons and received cool to cold food on five out of six occasions. After receiving cool to cold food the first time my family and I went to this establishment, I have asked the servers to bring out the food as it became ready. However, each time the servers never brought the food out as it became ready and we ended up with cool to cold food. The last time my family and I went to this establishment was the final straw. There were 3 other small parties (2 of which came in and ordered after us) dining while we were there. When placing our order, I asked our server (Brianna) if she could please bring our food out as it became ready. She replied "of course" before leaving to put our order in. About 20 minutes later as my family and I sat conversing, I watched as food was placed on the shelf in the window. Another server walked over to the window after about 5 minutes, then placed 2 of the 4 plates on a tray before taking the other 2 plates to a table. Then, our server and the server that had picked up the plates previously walked over to the window and started talking and laughing with each other and the 2 cooks in the kitchen. After a few more minutes, our server turned around, looked at me looking at her, and then turned back to the window. After about 5 more minutes, our server asked the server she was talking with at the window to help bring our food over. When she delivered our food the only order that was hot was the burger that had just been placed in the window. The other two orders were lukewarm and mine was cold, which is when I asked our server how come our food wasn't brought out as it became ready as I had previously asked and if there was a policy that forbade customers having their food brought out as it was ready so they could eat food that wasn't cold. Her response was that they want the servers to bring the food out all together. Because of this "policy," I had to take my order to go so I could heat it up at home, which forced my family to rush through the meal we were supposed to have together. I also asked our server if there was a manager on duty, to which she stated there wasn't and she didn't know when he (Mario) would be on duty. This was horrible customer service and a horrible dining experience. If I could give zero stars, I...
Read moreThis review sucks to write. Especiallt since i left toro burger a 5 star in 2009 So i hadnt been to toro burger in a while. I convinced my spouse to go even though she didnt like it. It was a terrible experience
Wr get there and thry were like sit where you want. Mind you there were 7 unbussed tables.
The tables stayed unbussed for a while.
We ordered the avocado fries which of course they dont have. Switched it to the fried mushrooms.
The mushrooms get there hot and crispy with zero flavor at all. Are there any spices in the kitchen
We order our food. I have the kobe burger medium and she has the toreado mac and cheese burger add pickles to cut some of the richness of the burger well done.
Both burgers were put together sloppy. Again nonseasoning on the meat whatsoever. My burger was rare and not medium. The fries were cold probobaly because they were sitting wa8ting for the burger. They didnt put the pickles on the burger rather in a plate on the side.
The waitress was like oh he forgot.
I only ate half the burger as it was just bad.........
Whats worse is a random guy walks into the kitchen while they were cooking with tight sweat pants that were sagging and chanpion slides. And im like whats happening. He goes to the bar and has a drink. I will say this though, he must have worked there and just been off last night because he started bussing the tables. So thank him for that.
Overall....terrible i will not go back. There is no quality anymore. This was a far cry from the burger that was once featured in texas monthly.
Save your money. The 4 dollar burger i got on the way home was better than the 17 dollar kobe burger which i didnt finish because it ws nasty.
Wanted to give an update. The owner reached out and said the manager would call. That has...
Read moreSuch a disappointment. We used to go to the location on Eastlake and never had any problems. We've been devastated since it was closed down and finally ventured to this location since we've been craving toro. It started out fine, but quickly took a nose dive when we couldn't find our waitress just to order a drink. Had to get up and go to the bar to order. Which we are still convinced they did not even put alcohol in it because it just tasted like watered down fruit. When the the food came is when it really got rough. Everything was cold!!! Both burgers were pretty underdone with my husband's been severely underdone. He requested medium WELL and it was bright red. I only got a picture of mine, when I was fine with medium but it was not consistent throughout. Some parts were bright red and yet still hard??? Other parts were normal levels but really mushy. The fries were old. I don't know how they were serving those. They were cold and stale. Think McDonald's fries after 3 days. That's basically what they tasted like. I've never once sent fries back but there was no way I could even choke those down.
Worst of all, was the waitress. She clearly didn't care, she didn't have many tables but we never really saw her. There was another waitress there with more tables and we saw her more! But when ours brought the ranch, there was something in one of them that they of course charge you for. The waitress, upon seeing this, tried to shake it to cover it up before setting it on the table.
There was no trying to hide it and when I told her I didn't want it or the fries she just shrugged and said ok and walked away. For $40 meal for 2, this was horrific service and food. Waste of money and terrible...
