The most disappointing "Breakfast" that I have ever had... I used to love Crave! I invited my clients and my mother there very often because I loved the menu options that include items like "Borunda Corn". After my last "attempt" at having breakfast at Crave, my first time at the Zaragoza location, I think of Crave and I get upset all over again... I cannot and do not want to invite a client and wait 10 minutes to be seated in a more than half empty place where there are at least 7 employees standing around. After a few more minutes the person who was supposed to wait on us come and got our drinks order --coffee for me and water for my client-- returned in one fast minute with my coffee and powder creamer packets, and disappeared. I waited for 5 minutes until I finally asked someone else to bring me a spoon so I could stir the creamer into my coffee and to bring a glass of water for my friend. Longer minutes passed before our "waiting person" returned to "take" our order... time that I took advantage of to ask for a coffee refill (btw, the leftover half a cup I had gotten cold just waiting for the spoon...) She returned very quickly with a new cup of coffee and disappeared again... 50 minutes had passed after we first arrived during which we saw people come, sat down, eat and leave, when finally the "wait person, server" or whatever she calls herself returned to tell us that "the system did not take our order and..." my friend and I just said at unison, "never mind, forget about it!" We both had appointments and needed to leave in the next half an hour. The restaurant had been taking care of its clients, except, seemed like, our table. Ms. Server disappeared again without taking one second to ask if there was anything else that we might need, which forced us to, again, ask someone else for service. We asked for our ticket (for one coffee). I thought of it but my friend said it outloud. She said "they shouldn't even charge for your coffee after what they did of not entering our order and taking an hour to let us know" and I agreed with her. That second-someone-else called our "waiter", who soon came out to deliver a note... for TWO coffees! I reminded her that it was just me that ordered coffee since my friend had just asked for water... Her response was, "yes, but you had two"!!! In disbelief I asked if there was no more refill on the coffee, and she said "I think there is not, only on fountain drinks we have refills, that's why I brought you a new cup"! I just could not believe it! She still had the nerves to charge not just one but two coffees!!! It's been a month since then. I did not want to leave a nasty review. However, I cannot help it yet but to feel indígnate when I see the "Crave Kitchen & Bar" sign. Someone unaware of that bad experience suggested that we meet for breakfast tomorrow at that place but I'm not ready yet to go again, without getting upset just at the thought of that afternoon. Maybe if I went again I would get over that disgusting feeling that I have about Crave, but for now I rather eat a great breakfast somewhere else. I hope the owners realize that there are several corrective actions needed. I hope that there are not many more clients like me that do not want to go back due to the...
Read moreI would like to share my experience at a particular CRAVE location. Before I begin, I would like to mention that I have visited other CRAVE locations in the past and have never encountered any issues. The food has always been delicious, and the service has been great. However, my experience at this specific location was quite different.
Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed three staff members sitting down, with two of them engaging in intimate activities in the dining room. While I understand that people may engage in personal matters, it is unprofessional to do so in the workplace. Despite this initial observation, I decided to give the restaurant a chance and took a seat.
Eventually, one of the staff members stood up and became my server. She was actually very pleasant, and her service was the main reason why I did not leave a one-star review. To start off, I ordered the ceviche tostadas as an appetizer. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the dish. For the price of $18, I received two tostadas with a minimal amount of shrimp. The majority of the dish consisted of a thick layer of mayonnaise-based horseradish-infused sauce, overpowering the taste of the shrimp. The tostadas themselves were hard and had a stale flavor, similar to when chips are left open for too long and lose their crunch.
Moving on to the Fish Tacos, they were also unsatisfactory. It seemed that all the mayonnaise had been used in the ceviche tostadas, as there was no sauce on the fish tacos, despite the menu stating otherwise. Instead, the tacos were drenched in an excessive amount of oil. The tortilla was so transparent due to the oil, as if the fried fish had been placed directly on it without draining the excess oil. The plate itself was covered in oil, which was quite unappetizing.
Lastly, I ordered the Pan Fried Salmon, which was priced at $32. As I took a bite, I immediately noticed that the salmon was mushy and had a strong fishy taste. I swallowed it and thought it was odd, so I took another bite, only to find that the salmon was raw. It was cold to the touch, resembling sushi. This discovery was quite unpleasant, as I do not consume raw fish. I informed the server about the issue, and she promptly removed the salmon from the bill. Additionally, she kindly provided me with a gift certificate for the price of the salmon. This gesture prevented me from leaving a one-star review.
Due to the unsatisfactory experiences with the ceviche tostadas, fish tacos, and pan-fried salmon, I decided not to order anything else and left the restaurant feeling disgusted. Initially, I hesitated to leave a review due to the gift certificate, but I believe it is important for upper management to be aware of these issues before it affects the business negatively. I genuinely hope that the restaurant improves its food quality in the future. If that happens, I would be willing to revise my review. However, based on my experience today, I can only give this place a two-star rating until the food...
Read moreI’m never one to leave negative reviews, just think that this type of situation calls for a review. I hope this brings awareness to their lack of cleanliness. The inconsistency with how their food comes out. 😔
Went for lunch today with my husband, ordered an appetizer. My meal was Buffalo boneless wings, as I grabbed my first wing to eat. There was a hair, showed it to the server and she came back to say they were re making them. Great, thanks so much. Asked her if she could please have them boxed once they were ready because I had an appointment to get to. Wings were ready, manager was bringing them to the table. Server advised him they were to go. He went back to the kitchen and they were then boxed. Get to my office, open my box of packaged boneless wings. Grab my first wing, THERES A HAIR!!! Immediately thought, really? Was this maybe on purpose. Then thought, no don’t think that way. So I send my husband a photo and tell him there’s a hair in my wings that they remade. He said oh wow, yeah that had to have been on purpose. How does that happen? Keep in mind when the first hair was found and I brought it to my servers attention, I didn’t ask for a discount, I didn’t ask for them to not remake them, although I had to leave and get to my appointment. I didn’t ask them to remove the cost of them. I paid for my bill. I notice they gave me a -6 discount, thank you for that. Just it happening again to the remake, meant I didn’t get to eat food for lunch. I brought them home, and I will attach the photos for proof, with time stamp.
Tried adding a video for time stamp proof but doesn’t allow video uploaded Here’s all the photos I could...
