Union Drafthouse Transmountain — Restaurant in El Paso

DISCLAIMER: Lately, I realize I need to take more time and explain why I give it the stars that I do (if any).

And I have always said it is my opinion but also my honest reveved review from one whose family owned a 5 star restaurant.

So here goes, I now have been a patron to this sports grill and bar twice.

First time was to try the infamous pizza. It was not too bad but I expected a bit more from pictures posted. For a brick oven pizza the crust was too flat and a bit hard to chew. The topping was a bit chintzy but over all it was fresh and hot when served.

The mixed cocktail beverages were tasty and refreshing.

The server was sweet and attentive.

The atmosphere was pleasant and at the late hour not too noisy. Place was clean and no visible odors.

So decided to visit again.

Atmosphere about the same, not too crowed so noise level fairly pleasant. Lots of TV viewing no matter where you sit, so great for big sports game.

Server was very sweet and in a family way and working very hard. She went above and beyond. However, the manager later did his rounds and he was extremely rude and does not care about customer experience, which is very bad for this business.

The food this time was not prepared well or correctly. The steak bites were laced in fat/grizzle and extremely tough, and any fried items was overly cooked basically burnt but drinks were still made well and tasty. As result of bad main course no dessert was ordered.

Basically a toss up if one should be a patron to this venue. Hopefully who ever cooks that day is experience and items are fresh, otherwise you may end up with a bad meal and one particular manager does NOT CARE.

For cocktails and to watch some sports, seems can't go go wrong there.

The food is petty good, my wife loved the salsa and she's EXTREMELY picky about her salsa. The pizzas are great, this time we got chips with cheese and salsa for an appetizer since they didn't have any calamari but to add to why I love the service, the manager came over to check on us and said sorry for the misunderstanding but they actually did have calamari and asked if we would like some and of course we did. I thought it would be on the house since we already did the chips and dip duo but unfortunately it wasn't but we still enjoyed our selves. My wife got the Greek salad with blue cheese dressing (small) and she loved it, my son who was celebrating his birthday wanted the Jalapeño Lovers thin crust and I got the Philly with fries. Everything was on point except the calamari was a little over cooked but still a great eat. The sweet ice tea was a let down but not a showstopper but the fact that my wife who does enjoy an adult beverage every now and then but doesn't like to go overboard ordered a Corazon Blanco really enjoyed her drink. It wasn't too strong and it had the perfect balance, the flavor of the liquor and all the things that made it taste great. My son who isn't a huge drinker either got a couple of drinks really enjoyed his two drinks as well, the Ace guava and the Paloma. Sorry I couldn't tell you what's in them though 😅 Bottom line a cool place to eat and hang out and watch some sports on the many tvs they have the. Thanks Melissa for trying...

Sat down with my family and it took a few minutes for a server to greet us, not a big deal we didn’t mind. We ordered our drinks and started perusing the menu. Started with an appetizer and asked for a few minutes to look over the rest of the menu before deciding what to get. It was a good 10 minutes between ordering our appetizers and ordering our actual meals. Everything came out at once. Appetizers, less than a minute later one entree followed immediately by the other entree. It makes me think the server didn’t put the appetizer in until we ordered our actual meals. After that we didn’t see the serve at all until we asked for a box. It took another five minutes after getting the box for me to be able to ask for a check. Now when I ask for a check I would like a check not a tablet pushed into my face with the server pointing at each item I ordered. As I was paying I wanted to put a custom tip in and the server was moving the tablet around so I couldn’t press that option. She immediately started walking away after my card cleared and I had to raise my voice to tell her I still needed a copy of my receipt. I saw it was an option to select after paying but again wasn’t allowed to do that.

All in all the service was terrible, the food was good, and the place was clean. I don’t think I can return to a place that doesn’t seem to value customers or...
