UPDATE So yesterday we gave Britt's another try, but we called first this time to check and see if they had any gumbo, and they did! We rushed right over, and everything was perfect! The lady working the counter was super nice and knew exactly who we were from the phone call and the previous visits. 🤭🤷🏾♀️ The gumbo was delicious (as always), and I'm glad we gave it another go. Thanks Britt's! I'm disappointed with Britt's. I've had it a couple times in the past when I'm in the area, and it's really good. However, a week ago, my coworkers and I went there for gumbo during our lunch break, and we were told by the owner that they didn't have any and they were going to make a fresh pot for tomorrow and suggested we come back. Unfortunately we only come into the office on Wednesdays and none of us live anywhere near the area, so Thursday wasn't an option. Ok, so no big deal, he was nice and apologetic, and told us to come back next Wednesday and he'll be sure to have a pot made since we specifically came for the gumbo. So we chalked it up as a loss for the day and agreed to see him next week. Well today (a week later), we went back as promised and were told again, they didn't have any. This time we were pissed! We went out of our way to give them a second chance, and keep in mind, we're on our lunch break, so now we've wasted our time. Not cool. Why have a whole sign advertising gumbo if you're not going to have it readily available to order??? Perhaps just offer gumbo on weekends only if you're not going to have it everyday....
Read moreI worked in the service industry for 9 years so I'm a big fan of not posting negative reviews and handling issues directly with restaurants. I tried to do this just now, but the response from the restaurant was unbelievable. I am now an executive assistant. I placed a catering order for my boss about 4 days ago which was confirmed many times via email and phone. When my boss got to the restaurant to pick it up they DID NOT have it. The restaurant tried to pull it together, took 45 minutes, and when my boss got home he realized they gave him the wrong thing. I called to ask if they could make the right thing and if I could quickly pick it up for my boss (on a holiday and I have two babies so super inconvenient for me). The owner told me the only way he would make it right is if I drove to my boss's house and brought back the wrong item. Then drove back to my boss's house with the correct item. My boss's house is completely out of the way for me and not realistic for me to do both. I explained it to the owner. He understood that he messed up but would still not make it right unless I sacrificed my holiday driving back and forth. Unreal. I'm sure their food is fine but DO NOT COUNT ON THEM FOR CATERING
Editing to add: when the owner saw my review above he sent...

My gosh, am I glad I found this restaurant through Google Maps.
I wanted something HEARTY to eat and I didn't desire the local food, like InNOut, etc., so I searched for "restaurants near me" and Britt's popped-up.
I saw some of the photos and thought "yeah, it looks good, but I've seen good and tasted bad, before".
That was NOT the case here!
When I arrived, I read the menu and asked if there was a lunch version for the baby back ribs. I was told "no" and that the meal would be $25.
I wasn't too happy about that, but I thought "hell, I walked two miles to get here, I'd better order something."
I placed my ribs order and added coleslaw and beans.
The beans were well flavored with a touch of heat. The coleslaw was ok, but could've been more flavorful.
However, the baby backs were the STARS!
Cleaned nicely (that's important), well seasoned, perfectly grilled and covered in a great tasting sauce.
What a wonderful surprise.
The meal was not served with bread (which was a minus) and the cashier wasn't so nice.
But overall, I...
