South Bay Industrial Hardware — Local services in El Segundo

This place seems to have no concept of customer service. I went to this "mom & pop" store the other day while in El Segundo. I didn't know of a nearby Home Depot so I googled to find a local hardware store. Southbay Hardware was minutes away. I walked inside to find only one individual working the floor . I guess this is on par with a "mom 'n pop" type of establishment but after the guy pointed to where I could find an item , he then quickly disappeared - out the back door! I waited a good amount of time for his return. I called out "hello!" but still no clerk. Another customer came in asking ME was anyone working the floor (hope she received better service) At some point while waiting for the clerk to show up, a man who I will endeavor to say was the store owner appeared. This guy came off curt and spent little to no time assisting me - similar to the other clerk, he merely directed me to where I might find an item and then poof, he was gone! I'll try give him the benefit of the doubt and just assume that he was rushed to get to the register to check people out. Since I discovered (at least for me) that this is would be a self serve type of experience I decided to buy nothing from here and will never return. For this reason, I rate this place 1 ⭐️. A friend and I visited this hardware store yesterday, seeking a specific screw fastener for his vehicle. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by poor customer service from the single employee on duty. When I asked for assistance finding the part, I was told to climb a ladder and search for it myself. When I returned to the cashier with the part, I was met with a rude response: 'How am I supposed to know what the price is?' This was not only unhelpful but also made me feel like I was expected to be an employee, rather than a customer.

To make matters worse, after we found the price tag and purchased the part, we were asked to return additional pieces to the shelf. We were floored!

Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of customer service and the employee's attitude. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and assistance, especially when I'm seeking help with a specific product. Unfortunately, this store fell short of my...

I went here because I would rather give money to a local business instead of Home Depot, and I couldn't have been more disappointed. I do a lot of crafts and repairs, and while I'm no expert, I have a good idea about how to go about working on my own property. The advice they gave came with a tone of arrogance and belittlement, and then on top of that, was bad advice! The tool they sold me specifically for that task didn't work, and they refused to accept the return 15 minutes later.

They could have kept a customer and fixed a problem, but instead they made sure I'm going to home depot for everything...
