My fiancé and I just got engaged with a Blue Diamond engagement ring, and we couldn't be happier with the decision. After a lot of searching the Los Angeles area for the right jeweler and the right stone, we were referred to Blue Diamond by a good friend who was also in the market for a ring. On our first visit, Ravi sat with us for well over an hour, teaching us about the stones and helping us narrow down what we liked into what we loved. I came back myself multiple times after that, and comparing their diamonds, their expertise, and their warmth with the other LA jewelers, in the end it was no competition.

Ravi and Sandy, the extremely knowledgable diamontologist, worked with me over several weeks until I found the perfect stone...and when that perfect stone happened to be a BIT of a stretch for my bank account lol, they stretched right along with me, and helped me through every step of the process. I think that speaks volumes about not only the quality of the people there, but the character of the company.

Design-wise, my fiancé has always preferred the 'elegance in simplicity', so while some (like our friend who referred us) can absolutely go to town on all of the in-depth customization that Ravi and Sandy provide, we leaned toward a more traditional approach with an oval stone with a low seat and classic gold band.

In the end, we came out with a ring that surpassed all of my expectations--perfect in every way, and exactly what we wanted. I will be thanking the two of them for that every time I come back in for as long as we're in Los Angeles!

We chose Blue Diamond, because we didn't want anything commercial. We looked around the typical places like Tiffany's, Zales, etc. They all felt so generic and impersonal. From the beginning, we know that we wanted to design our own ring. We also knew that we wanted to really like our jeweler and build a relationship with the person. We loved the idea of supporting a small business vs. something more commercial.

So the tricky part is finding the right shop to fit your needs. I guess, we were lucky, because Blue Diamond was the first place we stopped by after a random trip to Hermosa Beach. We fell in love with the boutique!

It took us about half a dozen trips to finalize my engagement ring. No, it wasn't because of them--it was all me. I was being super picky and giving Al a hard time. :) From choosing the right diamond shape, size, color and clarity to the design of the ring itself... I was always excited to visit Blue Diamond. Throughout the process, I never felt like he was impatient or unforgiving, because I wanted to go back and forth on the ring design. In fact, he was ALWAYS patient, kind and helped us bounce ideas each and EVERY TIME.

Throughout this process, I truly felt like I built a relationship with Al and Ravi. It wasn't just a business transaction. We bonded over life talks, yoga and meditation. I'm so happy with my experience.
