Read moreIf you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience where the food is as good as the atmosphere, look no further than The Jellyfish on Orange Beach—and I’m not just talking about the food. Alexis, our server, was the star of the show, and let me tell you, if she were any more attentive, she’d be holding your fork for you.
From the moment we sat down, Alexis swooped in like a customer service ninja, with the uncanny ability to anticipate our needs before we even knew we had them. Drink running low? Boom—fresh refill. Wondering what appetizer to get? Alexis had recommendations ready faster than a jellyfish floats in the Gulf.
And speaking of jellyfish, no, they don’t sting here. Quite the opposite, actually. The food is so good it might as well come with a warning label for addictive flavors. You’ll start with one bite of their shrimp and grits and end up questioning all your past dining choices.
Alexis made sure everything was perfect, from start to finish. I’m convinced she has some sort of sixth sense for when you need something, popping up with just the right touch of friendly banter and expert timing. It’s like she’s the jellyfish—drifting in, delivering exactly what you need, and floating out before you even realized she was there.
Bottom line: go for the food, stay for Alexis. Just be careful, because once you experience this level of service, regular restaurants are going to feel like dining with a...
Read moreOur party of three arrived about 5:00pm on a Saturday in January. They were busy but not overly so, and we had no trouble getting a table. It would have been fun to sit outside and watch the sunset, but it was too cold. They offer promotions during the week, but not on the weekends. The service was pretty good although the waitress left dirty plates on the table too long. We ordered a bottle of wine, the Wedge Salad with Chicken, the Creole Shrimp Stack, the Super Shrimp Tempura Roll, the Perdido Roll, and the Unagi Roll. All of the servings were generous. The Wedge was a typical wedge salad although some of the lettuce had brown spots. We have mixed feelings on the Creole Shrimp Stack. The fried risotto was delicious - crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The fried green tomatoes were very dry, and the tomato was too green and fibrous. There were six nice-sized, tasty shrimp, but a couple of them were under cooked and tough. The Unagi roll was unimpressive. It just tasted like rice. The Super Shrimp Tempura Roll was pretty tasty, and The Perdido Roll hit the spot. So, as far as the food goes, it was a mixed bag. For a fairly large restaurant, they only have two ladies and two men’s restrooms, and they are both one-seaters so don’t wait until the...
