Island Sweets Ice Cream And Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Florida

MUST VISIT: I’m not one big into reviews but, when something or someone is exceptional, i must take the time to let everyone reading know this... My son and I went for a 2nd visit while vacationing to grab chocolate chip cookies which are crazy good and coffee. The best part out visit was the kindest man who I thought was the owner. His approach to keeping us in the shop while the cookies baked into the early morning was EXCEPTIONAL. It’s hard to find people who love what they do and spread love around a business these days.

The owner reading this SHOUT out and give kudos to the “ wonderful” gentleman who served the mother and son from Chicago on 5-17 early am.

To customers: the cookies are amazing, the coffee is brewed fresh and if you are as lucky as we were you will experience the coffee -expresso shake. The chocolate ice cream is pretty yum as well. I missed out on Hawaiian shave ice- we shall meet...

Visited on July 23, right before closing. There was a long line and only one person to serve which we think was Walter. Where do I begin? We had been in there a couple nights before and Walter was very kind and helpful. On that night he had one other person helping him. On the 23rd there were 5 families In front of us which was four too many for Walter to handle by himself. He had a flare for the dramatics which we highly appreciated. However I don’t think blending 12 ounces of milk in a 10 ounce cup is recommended. I hope he got it all out of his eyes. To Walter, our family appreciated your efforts. Even though you were short handed and overwhelmed you made our trip to Perdido Key very memorable! First off the ice cream is fantastic. We went there one night and the service wasn't bad with 2 people working. The 2nd visit a few days later and waited an hour with just 2 families in front of us because there was only one employee. He was getting the ice cream, shakes, making coffee and then the register. When it was our turn to order, the employee excused himself and went to the back. He disappeared for about 10 min with the line out the door, and we thought he quit. He finally came back and was as white as a ghost. He apologized and informed me he felt like he was going to pass out. This is a family owned business and he explained couldn't shut down the shop, and cant keep employees because they either quit or get fired. ...
