With the stock market crashing and inflation climbing to new heights this McDonald's location is here to kick you while the economy is down. I pulled into the parking lot and ordered on the app for a drive thru pick up and all was well, windows of smiling faces and a dinner time rush wait. I was already one to wait, I used my rewards for a ice cream cone to eat in the drive thru. Got most of my order one last burger was still being made and a longer wait was added to my order. So the drive thru employee told me to "pull forward to number #1" the 3rd window was numbered 2 and a car was there already waiting but I could see Drive Thru Reserved signs in front of the entrance and parked in number one spot ✔️. Death scrolled for around 10 minutes watching my icee melt and my cone had long been eaten and no signs of my last burger. I remember in my awkward glances at the rearview mirror an employee with a bag had walked to the door but never came to the parking lot but his gaze was fixed on my truck but then he turned around and headed back in. Now as I was eating lukewarm fries I wondered if that was a missed connection and so I went inside receipt in hand to see if the connection was there but I didn't show enough interest and the employee didn't think I could give the burger a loving home a forever home, but I wanted to show I was committed to a life with this burger in it as brief as they live and prove that burger had a home, a home with me. And that's where this review took a turn, went to the counter and waited for an employee to ask why I was occupying their space and an employee asked me what was happening I told him I'm missing part of my order and the employee that had my burger earlier came forward but he was different now and he walked with the other employee behind a wall where orders are held and await to be put down(Im assuming) as they talked I could barely make out the conversation but my assumption were correct indeed he did have my burger earlier during our missed connection and he told my rebound employee that I had parked in the wrong space now I was taken aback finding I was the villain in this story, I was handed a cold(literally and emotionally) burger stammered my way through the false pleasentries and platitudes and I left shamed and by the time I got home my icee was more e than ice and Im leaving a 1 star review because if I am to be the villain The Villain I shall be. But seriously I was 10 steps...
Read moreI don't go to McDonald's often but some days we do a family quick snack/lunch/dinner. Seems like every time I visit this location, my order is just never correct. This time is just pretty much the last of it. My order was one Big Mac Bundle deal (comes with two Big Mac, two 10 pcs chicken nuggets w/sweet and sour sauce), two orders of the same happy meal (plain cheeseburger, fries w/apple slices and a marvel toy and apple juice box), and two large strawberry/banana smoothie. When I received my order, I got the big Mac bundle but didn't quite check if it was correct, the fries were old so we asked for fresh fries. They agreed and took our bags back but continued to give us our smoothies, juice boxes, and happy meal (which happy meal fries were fresh). When we finally got the bag back with fresh fries, one of the 10pcs nuggets were missing and we also got BBQ sauce along with the sweet and sour (at this point, the sauce was the least problem so we didn't bother). My husband had to go inside to get the order correctly. Coming home trying to enjoy hot food, the happy meal were missing the apple slices and the toys were some old minions. My husband drive out to have them fix the meals correctly and to get the toys we wants. Since my husband was still trying to come home fast so he can at least enjoy something hot (fries were definitely cold then). Then after eating, we came to realize that they only gave us one apple slices from the two orders we asked for. Overall, it will take about 4-5 tries to get one order done correctly. Never had a good experience, the employees don't even put a...
Read moreMy recent visit to the McDonald's in Elgin, Illinois, left me feeling rather indifferent. It was neither a fantastic experience nor a terrible one; it was just... okay.
Firstly, the service was standard for a fast-food restaurant. The staff was efficient in taking my order, and I didn't have to wait too long for my food. So, in terms of speed, they did their job adequately.
The cleanliness of the restaurant was acceptable, but it wasn't spotless. Tables were clean enough to sit at, but I couldn't help but notice some lingering crumbs and spills. Nothing overly concerning, but it could have been better.
As for the food, it was the usual McDonald's fare – predictable and consistent with what you'd expect from the chain. My burger and fries tasted like what I've had at numerous other McDonald's locations, which is either a comforting familiarity or a missed opportunity for culinary innovation, depending on your perspective.
What stood out positively during my visit was the availability of a clean restroom and the fact that the staff was polite and friendly, making the experience a bit more pleasant.
In summary, if you're in need of a quick, no-frills meal, this McDonald's in Elgin will get the job done. However, don't expect anything extraordinary, and you'll likely leave with an unremarkable but...
