This is the definitive hidden gem of Elizabeth. The atmosphere of every room within has a distinct feel, with authentic retro decor that harkens back to a simpler time. The tea variety is exceptional, with hand-packed loose leaf teas constituting most options. The food menus are limited to a few options, as most tea shops are, but everything ordered is homemade and cooked to order. The quality of the ingredients and cooking far surpass anything in the area; to eat here is to eat well. The meal I ordered, a half reuben paired to an avocado caprese salad, was astonishingly well-executed. My dessert, a homemade peach and blackberry bread pudding, was otherworldly. The intense and well-advertised competition of tea shops downtown cant so much as hold a candle to the gourmet quality of the food here. There wasn’t an aspect of my meal I failed to enjoy. Even the service felt personal and familial. I’d highly recommend to bypass the fancified and overpriced tea shops of the metro area, they try too hard to take on a personality they can’t match. This place was amazing! Came in from out of town with my 3 girls to visit, and we love to visit different tea rooms when we go on vacation. My sister had recently moved to Elizabeth and had not yet visited this tearoom yet. She looked anf found this tearoom unexpectedly. I was so glad she did. The food and desserts were 10/10 and the tea was delicious!. We had the privilege of visiting with the owner and she was very sweet and attentive to all of our needs. The price was reasonable compared to other tea rooms that charge upwards of $100 per person. It came out to about $45 per person which was well worth it for what was served. We were absolutely stuffed by the end of our experience and all of our girls, ages 6 to 13 cleaned their plates and emptied the tea pots! I met the owner a while back at the hair salon. We were sitting next to each other and started chit chatting, and she told me about hers and her tea shop! A couple months later, my two sisters and I took our mom for her birthday for high tea, and oh boy, it was FANTASTIC!!!!!! The variety of little sandwiches and cakes were so delicious! And don’t let the sizes fool you, there was a lot of food! We each picked our own tea and got our own personal little tea pots. Everybody there was SO warm and sweet, and made sure we were having the best time! And we were!! And the entire ambiance was SO perfect and charming! Highly recommend!! I definitely want to go back.
