We’ve always had nothing but positive experiences at Elizabeth Locker Plant. The staff here are always super friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which makes every visit a pleasure.
The quality of the meat is excellent, fresh cuts from local sources, which we really appreciate. They offer a great variety including beef, pork, turkey, chicken, and even fish (though I’m not sure if the fish is local; I haven't asked). While we haven’t placed a bulk order yet, I know turnaround times depend on how many people have reserved for specific products, so that can vary.
The facility is always clean and well organized, and the pricing feels fair, especially considering you’re getting local food that hasn’t gone through the entire commercial processing chain. It’s less tampered with and something we feel much better about feeding our family.
We make it a point to come here for our meat because it’s the closest place we can consistently trust. As an added bonus, they always have dog food in stock, and we love trying different things for our pup. This time, we’re excited to let our special pooch, Newt, try some chicken hearts!
Highly recommend Elizabeth Locker Plant for anyone looking for quality, locally sourced meat and great...
Read moreI was there two days ago to pick up a quarter of beef that my rancher had processed and, like every other customer in the front store, was wearing a mask. The five employees that I observed were all not wearing masks, nor attempting to socially distance. There were no signs asking customers to be masked or distance, nor any directions inside to do so. Meat lockers were ground zero for the early outbreak, so that Elizabeth Locker Plant would intentionally flout the law on this is dangerous.
I told my rancher I won't do business with him if I cannot have my cow next year processed elsewhere. I left a message with the Elbert County Health Department. I don't know what Elizabeth Locker Plant's motivations are for flouting public health and the law, but it makes me question what other corners they cut when expedient.
Please take your business elsewhere. This is a...
Read moreI have had my hogs, steers, lambs processed here for quite a few years . When we unload, the same calm, sweet guy has always been there. He slowly walks the hogs to the building where they have nice cool dirt and a full water trough to drink from. These are the nicest, most calm, humane people I have ever dealt with. I have had a bad experience at other processors. No, the building is not state of the art new, but I have had the tour of the processing area, and it is very clean. Their ham curing is the best I have ever tasted. (Comparing it to many places I have lived in the country). The kindness of the people towards me and my animals keep me...
