I stayed here for 2 months While I was waiting for my house to be ready to move in the park itself is nice The ladies at the front desk are extremely polite and helpful The campsite host on the without a doubt was the rudest person I've come in contact within a long time My dog's one day accidentally got off leash I jumped in my truck to chase them down He proceeded to jump in the middle of the road to stop me to tell me. I couldn't have my dog's off leash. I proceeded to say I know I'm sorry they got out. I'm going to get them right now At that point time a reasonable person would have moved out of the way I could have got my dogs faster He chose to cuss me out like I was a five year old And continue to reiterate the same thing I left on a sunday to empty my tanks They have a padlock on the dump station There is a phone number to call To get a hold of the host so he can come and lock it I called he answered I let him know that I was trying to leave and needed to dumb my takes Keep in mind the dump station is literally Is twenty feet from his camper door He proceeded to tell me in so many words very rudely I could pretty much go screw myself As much as I loved this park the amenities the scenery I will unfortunately never visit this park again solely solely based on the...
Read moreI picked our site but didn't know we were only 2 feet off the campground lane. The way the site sets, you are either on the road or really unlevel. We went with being on the road.
Grass is long, unmowed, and dying. Picnic tables are warped and some even unusable.
Website (and campground signs) state you have to have a permit (assume hang tag or sticker) to be in the campground. Called the office (somewhere), and I got voicemail stating they would return my call within 48 hours. This was Friday afternoon. Left a message that 48 hours wouldn't work as we had reservations for Friday. They did call me back and said a permit wasn't necessary.
Most sites are unlevel, and there is plenty "drive through" traffic
At $65 a night, I won't be back. It almost seems like price gouging because Colorado has beautiful scenery, but so do other places, and they are much nicer for less money. Also, there are no bathhouses, toilets, or playgrounds for kids.
I gave it two stars because utilites work good, it's not dirty, just unkempt and it is...
Read moreIt's a nice, quiet park with Beautiful Ponderosa Pine trees all around you. We love it here. Now, it's not the fanciest park, but does have water and electric. There is a trash dump for trash. Our site was tad unlevel but it's nature so it's ok for us. We also have larger rig, some sites look more level than others. Elizabeth is cute town near by, Kiowa another small town not far, a country flavor for sure. We will be back. If I had known bout Celtic Fest We would have made reservations :). I'm curious how this strip of Ponderosa trees in these plains like area past valley came to be...it's like a strip. Did they blow in from the Rockies? By Birds? Be nice to find more...
