Went here with my husband. Three tables not cleared when we arrived. I had to get napkins from the counter area to clean our table. Also had to get our own menus. Another couple came in and wasn't able to sit at a table properly either because their table was still cluttered with dirty dishes that the staff was in no hurry to clear. After sitting for a few minutes waitress finally came over and wiped the table down and took our drink order. After another minute or two she returned with the drinks and proceeded to take our order with her little notepad and pen but got distracted by another customer's order. At this time she turned away from our table to collect their food and deliver it their table without even saying anything to us. She just turned away. After making two trips to their table, she went back to the food prep area and started messing around with toast. All of this without even a hint of friendly customer service. So we left. And since we didn't drink any of our drinks, we had no bill to pay. This woman really needs to be re-trained in...
Read moreSeaport Diner in Elizabeth, located conveniently near Newark airport amidst the bustle of trucking companies, offers a classic diner experience with its vintage ambiance. Visiting on a Tuesday morning around 10:00 am with two friends, we found ample parking in the spacious lot, which was a plus. Despite the occasional rumble of passing trucks, the noise wasn't too bothersome within the diner. The interior exudes a charmingly old-fashioned vibe, complete with booths and classic red stools, providing abundant seating for guests. The food, while not exceptional, was decent and satisfying. What stood out was the reasonable pricing; a meal for three came to just over $50, making it a budget-friendly choice. The service was a highlight - the staff was welcoming, accommodating, and our orders arrived promptly. Overall, the Seaport Diner provided a comfortable environment to enjoy a meal with friends. While the food wasn't extraordinary, the friendly service and nostalgic ambiance made for an...
Read moreI have been a regular 1-2 times per week customer for years. I had a horrible experience here yesterday and will never be returning. Everything was fine until I went to pay. I left some cash at the table for the server and intended on leaving the remainder of the tip on card. I believe the woman at the register is the owner’s wife. When I told her the amount to add to the bill as a tip she immediately said “what? Is something wrong”. Despite the fact that her statement was wholly inappropriate in the first place, I said no. Before I could even mention that I already left cash at the table, which I shouldn’t even have to say, she made the most rude noise then proceeded to glare at me and didn’t even say thank you, come again or anything at all. Someone needs to teach this woman some manners and customer service. I will be taking my business to a...
