It was a sunny Friday. Birds chirped. Hope swelled. I had one thing on my mind and one thing only: the Heath Blast from Sonic. I had been dreaming about it since lunch, and it wasn’t even breakfast yet. Crunchy, chocolatey toffee chunks nestled in creamy vanilla ice cream—it was going to be my reward for surviving another day of pretending I understood how Excel works.
I pulled up to the Sonic drive-in like a cowboy approaching a saloon. I could taste the toffee before I pulled up in the drivethru. The intercom crackled to life, and I summoned my sweetest, most polite voice.
“Hi there, could I please get a large Heath Blast? Extra Heath, if you don’t mind.”
The voice on the other end confirmed my order with the enthusiasm of a DMV sloth, and I waited. Minutes passed. Anticipation built. This wasn’t just a dessert—it was therapy in a cup.
Then the moment arrived.
They handed me the cup, and zipped away before I could inspect it. Which was my first mistake.
I looked down at the first chance i got. My heart dropped. My pupils dilated in confusion.
There were three Heath pieces. Three. And one of them looked like it was just a shadow of a real piece. I Whimpered.
I stirred the cup furiously, like a tiny archaeologist looking for fossils of the promised toffee. Nothing. Just vanilla as far as the spoon could dig. I was a man betrayed.... needless to say, I will...
Read moreAfter not visiting our local sonic in over a year, we decided to swing through the drive thru tonight. Wish we hadn't. The employee did not speak clearly and sounded as if she was rushed. It did not get better at the window. There were 2 cars in the parking and I was the only one in the drive thru. Not busy that I could see. The burgers we ordered did not taste like the sonic we have had any where else or in the past at this location. The double hamburger tasted as if it was rotten. The green chili on my burger couldn't hide the taste of old meat. We threw them both away and ate the tots. They were fresh and hot so we were thankful for that. Had I been closer to the restaurant when we attempted to eat our food, I would have returned it and explained why. I just didnt feel like driving back to get another rotten burger. What happened? Sonic used to be a great place to get a burger. Very disappointed. I now understand why this sonic is never busy anymore. The prices went up and the quality and service went down. This was a waste of money and time. The cherry needs slush was good and the tots were fresh and hot but the burgers were terrible. We just tried giving them to our dogs and they would not eat the hamburger. Something is...
Read moreHonestly if I had a choice I would never come here but I don’t like Taco Bell so I have no options... the service is ALWAYS slow, my orders are sometimes wrong. 90% of the time they skimp on the sauce for the honey bbq popcorn chicken. They all need to be covered with sauce and I’m lucky if I get half of them covered with sauce.. It just seems like they don’t care. Most of the time when I pull up to the window I see people just standing around like they don’t know what to do. I try to only come here if I don’t have anywhere to be because it takes such a long time to receive my order, food or just drinks.. Not to mention leaving, you can forget that completely. The line is so long because they aren’t getting the food out in a timely fashion so you’ll spend just as much time trying to get out as you spent waiting for your food. I few times I’ve come, I’ve sat at the ordering menu in the line and waited 20 minutes for someone to ask what I want and when they finally answered I could hear laughter in the background like they totally forgot they were suppose to be working. I plan to figure out when the manager is there and only come when the manager is there in hopes for...
