Prior to a hike at Singletary Lake Park, I stopped for lunch in Elizabethtown with a group of friends. We intended on eating somewhere else but that establishment wasn't following any Covid protocols at all. The hostess wasn't even wearing a mask. So we found Barefoot's online and decided to give it a try. Our entire group was glad we did. As soon as we walked in, it was obvious the owner cared about customer safety. All staff members were wearing masks, tables were socially distanced and clear plastic had been hung to protect customers at the register.
The variety of menu options was far greater, and more sophisticated, than I'd expect at a sandwhich shop. The food was excellent. I'm not a "foodie" so I don't typically find food memorable. But it was memorable here. Beyond all of that, the proprietor was extremely friendly and social. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome and get to know us as his customers. I live in Raleigh and while I love it here, that's definitely not an experience I've ever had here. I will absolutely be recommending this place to my friends and family and I'll definitely plan on going back the next time I'm in...
Read moreStopped by yesterday while in the area after it was recommended by Barefoot Brew on Broad Street. The coffee shop has never let me down, so I decided to check it out. The service was exceptional, very friendly staff and extremely conversational at the register. The food came out quickly and was âmade with love.â I ordered a cheeseburger with cheddar cheese and mayo, which was delicious, and I would even compare it to Melvinâs. The okra was good too, but the stars of the show were the crispy fries. They are wide, but thinly cut, so you get a perfect crisp on the outside with a soft and fluffy inside. The Barefoots really care about their customers. Bottomless fountain drinks, the owner walking around and chatting with customers, the customer service was exceptional. Also, not sure why nobody talks about this, but the walls are covered with little pieces of Bladen county history. Very fun to read while you wait on your food. Overall, this place checks off all the boxes. Friendly staff, exceptional customer service, fun atmosphere, and delicious food. Will definitely recommend to all my...
Read moreVisiting White Lake or just passing through Bladen County,, this is a âmust tryâ! Dined with them twice in one week and will continue to enjoy it all summer. On Saturday, 4 of us enjoyed 4 different selections and all were delicious. On Tuesday, 3 different selections and again, all were delicious. Iâve enjoyed the hot Italian, the BLT, custom ordered a cold turkey sub with my choice of veggies, and the spinach salad. The servings are generous and fresh. As good as all the sandwich and salad choices are, the fries are the best Iâve ever eaten, thin and crispy wide flat fries unlike anywhere else. Reminds me of homemade fries at a steakhouse. The service is excellent, the patio dining is relaxing, and the owners are welcoming and eager to ensure your experience is perfect. I highly recommend this place! Itâs worth a drive to Elizabethtown just to enjoy Barefootâs Sandwich Shop and afterwards, a trip down the street to their coffee shop, Barefoot Brew, is just the perfect way to enjoy...
