My mother-in-law just moved to Elizabethtown and for Mother’s Day we wanted to send her a gift card for one of her favorite restaurants. Elizabethtown doesn’t have her fav chain restaurants. Burney’s bakery popped up in the search, photos and reviews looked good. I called them and they were amazing, great customer service! We don’t live anywhere near Elizabethtown, I was able to purchase a gift card over the phone and they mailed it to her with a personalized message. We visited Elizabethtown last weekend and tried Burney’s for the first time. Did not disappoint!! All the girls working there were very sweet. Read moreOver the past 15 years I have preferred these pastries above all others from Eluzabethtown to Fayetteville to Erwin. Recently I have noticed with each location that the creme filling is diminishing. Today i made a purchase in Elizabethtown and after taking 3 bites i then hit the creme filling. This is not a good thing, because we are still paying for a creme filled pastry. I do understand that baking ingredients along with everything else, except employee pay is increasing, which will only lead to customers shaving of those things we classify as little pleasures. Read moreOk, I saw a bakery and had to stop in.
They had a wide variety of baked goods but mostly croissants. Smores, maple bacon, cinnamon sugar, chocolate strawberry, and so many other flavors to choose from! I got a box of 12 for everyone to pick 3 flavors each they wanted to try. The croissants were nice and flakey, and the flavors were not overpowering. I was so sad when I ran out!
I cannot wait to see another Burneys so I can stop in and grab some more...
