After reading all the reviews, my Fiance and I decided to go and check out Impellizzeri's Pizza in Elizabethtown. Parking is not the best (unless you are lucky enough to get a spot in front) but if you lived in E-town long enough, you already know that going in. They did a fabulous job of revamping the old Hardin Co. Registerstion building, you cannot tell it used to be a office building. It has exposed brick, nice wooden tables and hanging Edison bulbs. The only thing I didn't like was the wall to wall T.V's. As you can imagine the place can be loud. It has plenty of space to accommodate 1 person up to a party of 12. A good place for a wedding rehearsal dinner and I got the sense they were looking to do a game/trivia night🤷♀️
Onto the service and food😊 We arrived at 1:15pm on a Saturday and although the resturant seemed full we were seated in less than 5 minutes our waiter Jimmy shortly followed and got us our drinks (Pepsi products😕) Since it was our first time there we did take extra time to decide what we wanted and although Jimmy was busy he was still patient with us by checking in with us in a timely manner to see if we were ready. He answered all our questions with no attitude or hurried responses. We got the 14" All Meats regular crust pizza and the 12" Cheese Bread Appetizer and I got a House Salad as well. My salad came out about 5-7 minutes after ordering and the cheese bread came out about 10-15 minutes after my salad. It was okay, plenty of cheese just seemed something was missing. It came with marinara sauce but I am a garlic butter girl and Jimmy got it for me right away. The garlic butter helped and my fiance liked it with the marinara sauce. Our pizza came out about 25 minutes later and it was loaded with toppings. I checked the bottom of the pizza crust and it was perfect, no burns as others had reviewed and the temperature was consistently nice and toasty throughout the whole pie, no cold middle in our pizza😊
The toppings were plentiful throughout the whole pizza and plenty of cheese to go along with the toppings. We normally order extra cheese but we forgot to ask for it but once we got our pizza, we realized we wouldn't have needed it😊
The sausage is a fine crumble instead of being sliced or what you would get at other pizza joints with a bigger crumble. Never been a fan of it, to me the texture is like sand. It tastes good but it is just a personal preference on the texture.
My fiance and I really liked the pizza. It was different than what we have had in the past. The sauce is slightly sweet and slightly savory. It's like PJ's and Ds merged their sauces but better, much better! It is thick and hearty like fresh homemade sauce not thin and overly processed.
Onto the pricing. Some people are shocked by the price for just one pizza but I got to tell you I think it's kinda worth it. If you go anywhere else, you would have to ask and pay for double of each toppings and xtra cheese to come close to what you get here at Impellizzeri's😊
Overall the place is great! Plenty of room. You don't feel crowded even when majority of the seats are taken, you don't have to worry about bumping into someone or squeeze through occupied chairs to get in or out of the place. Great staff, great service and great food! Pricing is extremely fair for what you get. The things I didn't like was how loud it was, the parking thing and there wasn't a clear noticeable "Here is our front door" signage. Maybe there is an awning or something on order and hasn't been put up yet. On the parking thing, I think that the front parking should be more of Handicapped Accessible places because there is no ramp or easy transition from the back parking lot to the sidewalk leading to the front of the building. In fact you have to step up/down 2 curbs and the 1st curb is a doozie, it is more like a high step than a curb.
I highly recommend Impellizzeri's Pizza. It is a great adult eating establishment to kick back, have a drink and eat great Italian food with friends and...

After giving this place a second chance, I have decided that the issue I experienced could have been a one-off. The second time around was the complete opposite of my first visit. However, I still cannot recommend this place since the pizza itself is merely average. Mellow Mushroom is still my recommendation for those who wish to have high quality pizza.
Now, I’m holding to my word and changing my rating to 3 stars. It has great decor, great tea, a little pricy for what you get, and average pizza. All in all, I would eat there again if someone else is wanting it, or if someone else is paying, otherwise, it’s Mellow Mushroom all the way.
Was not impressed at all. Not only did I finally get the pizza I ordered AFTER everyone else had got theirs and were already done eating and ready to go, but I’ve had gas station pizza that was better than the miserable excuse for a thin crust I got, which by the way, they got wrong. I asked for a pepperoni with light cheese...They gave me a cheese pizza with light pepperoni....seriously, it had no more than 8 slices of pepperoni on the whole 14” pizza.
The manager was nice, she comped my pizza (which I didn’t even ask for) but the waitress was rude. I told her there was a mistake because of all the cheese and lack of pepperoni, and she told me, “I don’t know dude, I don’t make the pizzas.”
Now, I’m not willing to write them off just yet, as I’m willing to give them a second chance, so I’ll update my review then. But in the meantime, if you want some soggy thin crust custom pizza that will come out the exact opposite of what you asked for, and don’t mind getting it after the rest of your party has eaten and ready to go, then this place is for you.
By the way, I’m giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because I liked the decorations and the sweet...
Read moreWe usually have a good experience here. Pizza is good, great selection of beverages, and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, last night (Saturday) was a bit concerning. My wife and I were with another couple and they were really looking forward to a good Bloody Mary. What they got was a very, very, very sad version of that...as seen below. Another friend of ours went today and hers was waaaay different than what we got last night. Take caution folks. If Sunday is this establishments "Bloody Mary bar" day then I would highly suggest on only going that day less you want the disappoinment reflected in the first photo.
My friend couldn't drink it and he had it sent back and asked for the bourbon menu. It took about 5 minutes for the waitress to come back for the drink order between talking with other staff and watching the U.K. game. Priorities I guess. Five minutes, not a long time. It is when the server is literally doing nothing with her back to you. She finally returns. My friend orders 2 Old Rip Van Winkle bourbons. Not a cheap drink, but we enjoy a good bourbon 🤷♂️. She takes the order without asking if we wanted it neat or on the rocks. Grab and go. I like neat. My friend like a cube. We get the drinks and I realize that there is debris at the bottom of mine. $25 drink of bourbon and I get a floater. At this point we just want to eat and go. Never got asked if I wanted another beverage. Never got an apology for the sad blood mary's that were served. I mean if your going to advertise a Bloody Mary bar shouldn't it be consistent or is it only going to be one day a week that a good Bloody Mary is to be expected? The pictures below tell the story.
Pizza was okay, but the poor quality of service diluted what could have been a...
