Draft Picks Burgers * Pizza * Beer — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

I went being a black man and everyone there were all whites, some were not actually real white but they were tolerable.

So I was been stared at by some like I strangely strayed into the place.

But I quietly and dejectedly got me a seat. Then what now even hurt the most was two waitresses seemed to be working together as pair. Not sure why, probably one was in training.

I sat there for about 7 minutes unnoticed, those two girls passing by me twice ignored me. Suddenly a white person came and took a seat beside me, he had barely sat down when those two waitresses rushed to him charmingly and so smiley. Quickly they served him well and left pretending not to see me on empty table. Shortly they returned to the man's table only to check on him if he was and walked away still.

At this point I started to want to leave when a man approached me to take my order. He was Hispanic. He served me.

When he came around to check with my table, by chance he peeped in my phone and I was busy with my company's profit and revenue shares calculations alongs my foods and drink, seeing some kind of $$$% his behavior towards me changed, instantly switched to this awesome friendliness and started trying start conversation with me about my kind of business and stuff. Those two waitresses rovering all around me till I finished and left the place, didn't even see me , they pretended. I actually moved in to the neighborhood newly and the Draftpicks is just opposite my house, overlooking my balcony across the road hence my exploration to find nearby bar.

But I tell you those waitresses seeing colors in a new customer to the restaurant aren't like they're whites themselves but some Asian origin.. That was my first and last last day there at Draftpicks...

My 1st time at Draft Picks in Mount Prospect and I wanted to try something new and different before the big day of my kidney donation surgery. The lovely waitress recommended the grilled cheese burger…which is. A burger in-between two grilled cheese 🧀 sandwiches with grilled onions!!! I cut the burger in 1/2 so you can see it on the picture. 🙃 Absolutely delicious 🤤 I couldn’t finish the whole thing and was able to save the other half.

The Buffalo Crispy Chicken sandwich was lightly breaded tossed in buffalo sauce, pepper jack cheese, lettuce and tomato 🍅. The sauce was scrumptious and the chicken was soft and crispy. The burgers did not fall apart and we were able to enjoy our meal with the family. The fries 🍟 were hot crispy and pickles were a great garnish to our burgers.

Great atmosphere. They have huge televisions where you can easily look up and watch the game. Go cubbies! Plenty of seating area where you can book and have huge gatherings. There’s also an exclusive poker and gambling 🎰 machines. So many drinks 🍺 that you can sit on the bar area and chill.

The one major and unsafe flaw was their front door entrance where the cement is cracked, uneven and needs to be redone. If your having a good time inside, you can trip and hurt yourself by falling onto the concrete floor. Please get this done in order to prevent future accidents. ☹️

Other than that they served great food, waitress was super kind, where good people can enjoy their meals whatever...

I have been a regular a draft picks for well over a year now and have found them to be excellent service friendly staff and excellent food at a good price however the music on Wednesdays and Thursdays is horrible it's like B 96 beatbox music and somebody there thinks prince and Michael Jackson are the only music on the jukebox so it plays whole albums of those two every time you're there which gets real old and ridiculous. Now recently although the website shows half off appetizers they have changed their menu and no longer offer the half off appetizers after 9 o'clock but rather charge full price and they have substituted half a pizza which is a OK but it ain't great Apparently some people are coming in and ordering half off appetizers and water instead of buying beer. To me I don't know why the management didn't just place a two drink minimum on the half off and tell people that we don't do takeout orders at half off and call it a day instead they ruined it for everybody. Are used to go here 5 to 7 times a month easy and drop about 100 bucks every time I will now go to the Beacon when they open in the fall and I will go to taphouse especially since it's closer to my house and I don't have to worry about the Mount Prospect cops trying to get you for a DUI.
