I've been wanting to go here for some time and finally went for lunch with my husband.
Very cute local place. I love unique little restaurants that aren't chain restaurants. Nice decor inside, not like the old Polish buffets from years back.
Food was really tasty. I had the mushroom soup first. I'm not sure I've ever had a broth based mushroom soup. It was really tasty. Off the lunch menu I had the Polish sampler plate. It was a good amount of food for $14. Everything on the plate was great. I thought the sauerkraut and Cabbage under the smoked sausage would be boring but it was creamy and super tasty. I enjoyed every thing on the plate. What I didn't finish went home with me.
My husband had the meatballs with dill sauce that came with mashed potatoes and Asparagus, also $14. He loves pickles and dill flavor so this was right up his alley. I don't have a picture but it was 4 good size meatballs, a mound of mashed potatoes and Asparagus spears. He said it was great. The dill wasn't overpowering. The dishes were great looking and modern, not covered in grease.
Service was informative, thorough, and friendly. Our waiter suggested we try the schnitzel next time, he said it was huge.
I'll definitely go back, maybe for...
Read moreWe visited Qulinarnia in Chicago before our flight to Mexico and decided to try out their Polish Sampler, which featured a selection of traditional Polish dishes. The restaurant itself had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with rustic wooden furniture and decor that added to the overall dining experience.
The Polish Sampler included pierogi, kielbasa, golabki, and potato pancakes. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The pierogi were perfectly cooked and stuffed with savory fillings, while the kielbasa was juicy and delicious. The potato pancakes were also a standout, with a crispy exterior and a soft and tender interior.
Throughout our meal, the staff was friendly and attentive, making sure that everything was to our liking.
Overall, we were really impressed with the Polish Sampler at Qulinarnia. The food was delicious and authentic, and the service was excellent. If you're looking to sample a variety of traditional Polish dishes, we highly recommend giving the Polish Sampler a try. It's a great way to experience the flavors and culture of Poland, right here in Chicago. We would definitely go...
Read moreWent here on a double date the other night and Qulinaria was both delicious and very accommodating. I'm a big fan of Polish cuisine. The love of my life is Polish (born and raised) and so I've had a fair amount of delicious Polish food with her at restaurants, at home, and in Poland, but rarely do you see Polish food elevated to haute cuisine. Qulinaria attempts to do this, and I think they really do a quite splendid job taking familiar Polish dishes and adding a flair, class, and a unique touch. Their food is fresh, delicious, and (for the elegance and quality you receive) very affordably priced. Our server was very nice, helped us decide what to get, and kept things moving fast while not rushing us, despite the fact that we accidentally stayed a bit past when they closed. Located in a strip mall in Mount Prospect, and this being a Wednesday night, they were definitely not packed, and I would love to see this place busier and getting the attention it deserves. I'll definitely be returning soon, and I hope to try some new takes on traditional dishes to see what new spins Qulinarnia's head chef has managed...
