Orange & Chicken Des Plaines — Restaurant in Elk Grove Township

Ordered the orange chicken and Mongolian beef. The quality of both meats was very poor. The pieces of Mongolian beef were about 85% fat..there was hardly any meat at all, it was all just nasty, slimy, unrendered fat. The orange chicken was awful, too. Too much fat on the meat and it looked dark and dried out. Again, stop using such fatty cuts of meat. The owner really needs to stop being so cheap and quit trying to cut corners by using such fatty, inferior cuts of meat. Umm.. Hello- throw them in the garbage , where they belong! People want meat not disgusting globs of fat! If the meat isn't decent, it doesn't matter if the sauce tastes good or not. It ruins the entire meal! Overall, very disappointing experience. This place is MUCH BETTER than previous owners. Best place for high quality Chinese, super low prices and large portions! I come here often and just ordered dinner on way home to watch Olympics. Cooks and staff are always super-friendly. Big menu to choose from and the most varieties of Fried Rice and Lo Mein. My favorite is the BBQ Pork Lo Mein. Szechwan dishes are awesome. They know how to do spicy right, so just ask if you want better than average spicy.

FIRST TIME CUSTOMER AND DEFINITELY LAST TIME I wanted to try something new and decided to order their lunch special: orange chicken, which came with fried rice and egg roll. OMG, this was probably the worst I've ever had. I took a couple of bites and had to throw it out. Totally a waste of money! The orange chicken wasn't cooked thoroughly, and the flavor didn't taste like orange chicken. The fried rice was terrible to look at and tasted just as bad.
