I’m new to Indian food and tried this place for the first time through Uber eats. We ordered chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, plain naan, and veg biriyani. Everything arrived hot and was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I were just saying mmmmm ooooo with each bite. We ordered enough to feed us for at least 3 meals lol so portions are very generous. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the sauces were so delicious. They were very generous with the naan portions however we will definitely order extra since we love it so much. The naan was freshly made and was on the thinner side which was perfect for dipping. The biriyani (huge portion) was amazing, much better than plain rice but not too overpowering. Tikka masala had good flavors and the butter chicken was just 1000000%. The restaurant even gave us a free small portion of raita which we appreciated. Overall this place is great, the prices were fair considering how much food and the quality, if you’re looking for authentic Indian food, this is the place. It was a bit spicy but if you’re someone who likes spicy food you’ll find this to be a mild amount of spice. My boyfriend is fairly sensitive to spice and he didn’t have any complaints. Only thing I would suggest would be maybe to offer an option to make it spicier for those of us who like extra spicy, maybe they offer this if you dine in? All in all, try this place if you haven’t, will not regret it. We will definitely be ordering from here more often and possibly dining in...
Read moreI have been super critical of most Indian restaurants playing into the stereotype of insanely spicy dishes, extra salty and greasy to appeal to god knows who, leaving many to stay away from Indian food as part of a healthy diet. Zaika actually has both north and south Indian dishes with various level of spices and flavors to elevate the food; probably the most authentic find in a long time. They do have couple of fusion dishes but its not the same spices or spiciness for all dishes - which is actually how different foods from different parts of India are cooked and taste. I had tried the chicken 65 and Gobi (cauliflower) dish and was very satisfied with the balanced level of grease and spices - not to leave out level of freshness. My husband likes his food more spicier and is able to find the authentic dishes that are meant to be spicy on the menu; lamb and chicken are both cooked well as well as the vegetable dishes. To make meat eaters love vegetarian dishes is a talent too; food is cooked super fresh and tastes great. Whatever they are doing, I hope they keep doing and not compromise the quality of food and service which many restaurants forget in the food business and then disappear when people...
Read moreBy far, one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the Chicagoland area!. I am very happy to have stumbled upon this place. Home cooked, authentic indian food with delicious spices and flavors. We had the lamb biryani, lamb Kadai, cheese Naan and garlic Naan. The Naan tasted homemade and I am obsessed with the homemade cheese Naan. It's stuffed with a white creamy cheese that is out of this world delicious. The dishes were prepared and delivered to the table fast and piping hot. The Lamb kadai had a great flavor and tasted homemade. The only thing I disliked was the Lamb biryani. It had an over powering Mint flavor to it. Service was great too, We will be back to try...
