I just did my wedding here. I will start with the cons. The owner is a cool guy, but doesn't communicate well and sometimes won't pick up phone which can be frustrating for a DIY bride. It wasn't too bad though. If your wedding is in the summer then i recommend you asking if there good AC because there was little A.C. during my wedding and guests were hot. My coordinator asked Charles but he still didn't put A.C. up. Now I regret asking him myself, because I'm sure they were just being cheap about it. Food portion was slightly smaller than discussd. prior to contract, I tried the food before the wedding and the portions don't match, meaning it was smaller during the wedding, but not a lot to complaints since we brought our own snack bar to the wedding.
We suppose to have a cake cutter but no one came. And I guess my coordinator forgot that the restaurant provides a cake cutter. My sister n law had to cut the cake instead, which I'm upset about. Serving 300 slices is not fun.
He also charged us over $300 For chair covers when I know before he said it was free of charge because we are doing a full on wedding at his restaurant. But that night I didn't want to argue so we just paid it. I have a feeling Charles is forgetful and just tries to charge us here and there to squeeze more money out of us if possible. I was afraid of this, that's why while doing our contract I made him write everything down, go as out anything that isn't relevant to us before signing, (he uses this generic contract that seems outdated) but i later realized the seat cover detail was left out on the contract so what can you do?
Here to the PROS. It's a good size place for a big wedding. Despite the cons, we still paid a very inexpensive price compared to other Asian restaurants IN south sacramento (holiday villa would have costed about the same but villa is a smaller place, and food portion is even smaller than AA). They were willing to clean after our beer bottles, although under contract they could've easily refused that night to clean that part. They have a decent cash bar, and despite what the contract says, you can wait until the end of the or night to hand over the total payment. I suggest doing this, as sometimes Asians do funny business. The owner let's you decorate a day ahead of time, and he allowed us to rehearse the day before. Food tastes good. Table linens and napkins, seat covers and sashes are included (although when I later decided I'll have seat covers, he charged me for it because I'm sure he forgot that he was going to give it to me for free. Just make sure you bargain with him and write everything all down and get a copy). He has some wedding materials, easel, that he won't mind letting you use. Again, nice man, I do like him, but my biggest complaint would have been the additional charges for seat covers and being cheap about not turning thr air conditioner higher...
Read moreWe had a graduation party there. Food is actually decent but the owners and server lady are very unprofessional. They got mad at us for showing up that morning to decorate at the time that they previously said we could come set up at. There was still trash and alcohol everywhere from previous party when we got there. During the party time. Food was served over an hour late from the agreed time. On top of starting an hour late, They only provided two servers for the party of 250 people and took over one and a half hours before full menu was served. Beware of using this place for large parties. Try on of the...
