Today my granddaughter and I came to Stacks to eat for the first time when we arrived the hostess was friendly never actually greeted us at the door stood where she was and motioned us to our seat. I had looked them up online to get a menu idea what they had on the menu I looked at it said that they offered pineapple pancakes when I got to this one they didn't kind of let down. Anyways we barely got seated before I even got my purse set beside me or my coat off the waitress is asking us what we wanted to drink I said can you wait a minute please so she came back with menus and then came back with a menu for my granddaughter and then I asked her if they had any crayons or some activity for my granddaughter and they did not she offered a pain so she could ride in the back of the menu which was nice. What I could see Six Women there one hostess the other five I'm not sure exactly what all their jobs were but a few of them were waitresses I ordered French toast it wasn't very exciting the waitress brought us our meals and said that the bacon wasn't ready yet and that she would be bringing it why I figured since I ordered a glass of milk that they would bring the milk and the bacon at the same time after the food was there well I had end up asking another girl for the bacon and when the bacon got to us it was cold meanwhile the other three or four women were complaining about a baby that was screaming in the restaurant and I'll kind of standing in a hole behind not doing anything the waitress never came back and asked us if we needed anything. And I never got my milk. Two men came in and we're seated up to the front they set their at least 15 minutes no waitress had even acknowledge that they were there finally I had said something to one of the girls I said you know they been sitting up there a long time she said well that's their waitress right there so I watched and finally there were two girls at the table one which leaned in and put her knee up on the seat next to the guy leaning into the bench seat which didn't seem very professional to me and then pretty soon those men left without eating. So she brought me the ticket I sent up the money when I was walking out the door I remembered that they never brought me my milk so I went back in and told the girl I said I don't I never got my milk and I think I was charged for it she never check the ticket she just gave me my money back for the milk and I proceeded to leave the next thing you know she come flying out the door saying ma'am ma'am we didn't have any milk on your ticket so I gave her her money back. The waitress that I had his never been trained to be a waitress not correctly the women that were standing around in their needed to have something to do I felt like you guys had just moved there like a week ago it was like things are not settled nothing for a kid to do at the table I don't know Stacks I don't know how long you been there but you better step up your game because even my six-year-old granddaughter said I don't think we should go back there...
Read moreStacks is a pancake house, well maintained and clean. I have been there twice and each time it was a good breakfast experience. We (my hubby and I) also had the same host/server... The first time around, we had no idea what to expect but I wanted to try waffles and was craving pancakes too! So I ordered both. My hubby ordered one of omelette, pancakes and bacon(I believe 2x2x2). I didn't know exactly what portion size I would get..but I can tell you 2 pancakes are good enough for one medium appetite person. I could only have half of my pancakes, and half if the belgian waffles because I really wanted to try something crunchy... Ofcourse I put maple syrup and butter on my waffle! I liked the waffle experience better than pancake (it is nice and soft) honestly. It's not something very outstanding or unique but it's good if you are not wanting to go to any of the regular diners like ihop...
One time we reached here around 9am on a Saturday (I believe) and there seemed like a line, so we turned away and went to ihop... Ihop wasn't a good experience for that day. Here at stacks, I like that after you enter you can clean your hands.. and then be seated. The couches need to be changed desperately (you can almost sink in some of them)... And there is enough distance to be seated comfortably. The high booth walls make you feel distanced enough (unlike ihop).
The second time around, it was a much simpler experience. You do have a majority of seniors in the house, enjoying their meals... So if you're looking for a hippy time, this may not be the place... The interiors are simple and plain and good amount of parking outside, and seating inside. There is no wifi... So please intend on having a good breakfast and a conversation with your company. Their service is quite good. And because I get so excited when I see my plate, I forget to take pics of my food. I have taken pics of chocolate milk and orange juice (not freshly squeezed, though if they did that.. it would be amazing) on gmaps.
Overall, I would give food a 3.5, ambience 3 and service a 4 star out of 5.. hope you can try this...
Read moreThis was by far the worst breakfast I have ever had.. and service was meh at best. Took my girlfriend and her daughter here and what can I say.
Had a guy that barely spoke English take our order. He not only got our order wrong we had to repeat it like 3 times till he got it right.. not horrible but if you had any kind of complicated order it wasn’t happening.. like my GF asked if she could have the bacon in the waffle .. that didn’t happen. Then she asked for blueberries on top they brought it out with the pie filling on top. Now the last time we were here they had fresh fruit so I don’t know what’s up.. my point you kinda need someone that understands and comprehends slightly complex orders.
The food.. holy cow.. my sausage came out cold.. my waffle was barely warm. The gravy barely had any sausage in it.. I would figure sausage gravy would at least have sausage in it.. and like I said the blueberry waffle that my GF ordered had the pie filling on top as opposed to fresh or at least frozen blueberries ..
So what was the price of this food 50 bucks for 3 people for substandard food.. there are way way better places to eat. That are better quality for less money. Make the drive to Mishawaka or go to Mayberry cafe in Bristol..
The service was okay the waiter was at least attentive to empty glasses so he did do well in that aspect.. however when the hostess/cashier asked me how my meal was and I said it was alright.. she just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry about that.. I wasn’t asking for any comps or discounts but she could have gotten the manager so I could air my grievances.. so...
