Taco Bell — Restaurant in Elkhart

I tried the Taco Bell chicken nuggets 12/20/24 at the CR 17 Taco Bell. They were ready almost immediately, so my first thought was, "Oh great, these have probably been sitting there for a while." I got the combo with the nacho fries. I finished my nacho fries, which were surprisingly warm, and I decided to dunk my first chicken nugget in the cheese. Let me first say that these nuggets were not visually appealing. They appeared to be slightly burnt and I don't know what they use in the breading, but I have never seen chicken breaded like this before. That being said, the breading was crispy. The temperature was perfect. The meat was tender and juicy. I did not enjoy the chicken dunked in the cheese. I do not recommend, but if you get the combo, you get the cheese with the fries, so why not try it? You might like it. Next I tried the nuggets with the fire ranch dipping sauce. The flavor paired perfectly with the fire ranch sauce. There was just the right amount of seasoning, and all of the flavors went very well together. I 10 out of 10 recommend. This is just a warning for those trying to get fast food tonight. Beware of this location and their quality of food. I went to this location to pick up food for my husband and I at around 4pm. When I went through the drive thru, I was a little thrown off with the cashier taking my order because anytime I tried to say what I want she would immediately cut me off saying “is that it?” Not very polite, I’ll chalk that up to maybe a new hire or someone that doesn’t care about customer service.

What was REALLY alarming was the food. I ordered three soft shells tacos, nothing complicated and I order my husband the cheesy bean and rice burritos. It is currently 8pm and I have food poisoning and threw up my dinner immediately. This was the first thing I ate today just as an fyi. If you order the soft shell tacos from here be careful if they seem soggy or not as fresh. I don’t want to see anyone else...

I love ordering through their app because, let's face it fast food connoisseurs, ordering Taco Bell verbally is painful and exhaustive! I'm not a value meal guy here so I order individual items every time. I don't know why but this has always been the case for the 30+ years that I have been killin' this menu! I can only guess that I have averaged eating here once a month over this span. Over 350 times would be a fair guestimate. It never gets old for me. The only knock on this fine establishment is their guacamole. It's atrocious. Luckily, almost the entirety of their menu is worth even occasionally risking freedom and liberty to drive under the influence to your nearest restaurant. Of course I'm kidding 👮🚔🚨.
