Does not even deserve one star. We waited almost 50 minutes for a chef salad and a fried chicken caesar salad. We were having a good evening talking and we noticed the people behind us got a kids plain cheeseburger and a hamburger steak with peppers and onion before we got our salads and they arrived 10 mins after we arrived and ordered. I asked the waitress to check on our order. Her reply was I will check on it in a second. She came back several minutes later and said they are plating it now. A few minutes later she returns with our salads. I did not have any dressing on my salad. I got up and went to find some dressing. She meets me and said there is dressing on it. Do I need more? I go back and find a small amount under the fried chicken. She came back several minutes later and threw a small cup of dressing on the table. Never spoke a word. She did not come and fill up our tea either, We had a to go order and it was missing salad dressing. We paid $29.91 for three salads and rude service. No we did not leave a tip. The tip is this review. I would not go back. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I will publish this every where I have a chance to do so and will tell everyone it is a hateful rude place with poor service and...
Read moreDrove to this quaint little town to use the Shared Branch for our Credit Union. We came to Matty’s on the recommendation of some locals. We were not disappointed! Clean diner with plenty of seating for the size. What they don’t tell you is the portions are HUGE!!! We had the following: Buffalo Chips (fresh sliced potato with a light coating of flavor and deep fried) YUMMY Beef tips with green peppers & onions (cooked to perfection, not dry, moist and flavorful) Fried okra Side salad Four chicken strips, fried Hush puppies Bacon cheese fries - three orders was too much. Special of the day* Boneless ribs in a sweet sauce Chuck wagon sandwich (hamburger patty breaded and fried) I HATE that I neglected to take a photo of the beautiful food and show how large the portions were. Go see Matty, you will need a nap when you are...
Read moreA little restaurant with many local customers—waitresses greeted several people by name as they walk in, and quite a few people sat down and ordered right away without even looking at the menu.
You just walk in, find a seat, and sit down. Someone will come to you and bring you the menu. The waitresses are very friendly and highly efficient. There are roughly 30 tables and an open kitchen, so if you sit at the bar area, you can watch the chef cook. It's very busy—packed by 5 pm on a Friday. We ended up waiting a while for our food.
We ordered the seafood platter (all fried) to share. The price can't be beaten. The food was overall okay, flounder had some bones in there and other fried items tasted as expected. BUT, the devil crab was really delicious. We'd probably reorder that if we...
