Came in with my boss and a coworker for dinner before work on Sunday. We came right at 4 so we were quickly seated.
The waitress didn’t give her name at least that I recall, but the bill informed me it was Jess.
We ordered our drinks, and that was already kind of a bust since they didn’t have their strawberry purée ready, so I did have to sit with a normal lemonade but she quickly got me my strawberry lemonade so that was fine. I get it, they had just opened.
We ordered appetizers, onion rings and cheese curds, which came after about 5 minutes and they were delicious. We then ordered our entree’s.
I tried to order a 8 oz sirloin, but they were “out” which was weird because you’re a steakhouse and you just opened ? so i settled with the 6 oz. and some Alfredo.
We sat for probably 45 minutes before we got our food. the waitress didn’t come over until our drinks were all empty. They were just chatting at the bar.
I will say that was one of the best steaks i’ve had BUT my boss and i ordered medium and it was medium rare. My pasta was also cold once it finally arrived. I didn’t end up eating it.
The waitress was fine, not super friendly, and attentive. Nothing really above and beyond to deserve a good tip.
It was a beautiful building. great western atmosphere. i don’t think it’s much fun until the wee hours. wouldn’t recommend coming in at opening times. was excepting a lot more.
I get it; it was early in opening and they had a ton of pickup orders that probably took priority over us. But, we’re here inside trying to enjoy the service and atmosphere. I don’t think we should have had to wait nearly an hour for cold food. Got our hopes up with...
Read moreI was regrettably drawn in by Cook's Steakhouse & Saloon doordash coupon. It was very poor quality especially given the price. I received a partial refund from doordash already. I've eaten there half a dozen times and each time it has gotten more expensive and poorer in quality and quantity. After tonight I will not be a customer again, but wanted to warn others and manage expectations.
The Halibut dinner description did not include onions. Onions and lemon usually are not a good mix and many people are allergic or sensitive to onions. There were more onions than pasta. Pasta is cheap but there was only a tiny portion. The Halibut was so overcooked it was like jerky. Extremely dry and chewy. I've had gas station jerky that was more tender. There were only 4 asparagus spears. For a $28 entree there was no side salad, bread, utensils or napkins.
The scalloped potatoes were dry and flavorless. There was hardly any sauce or cheese. Marie Callenders frozen. scalloped Potatoes are better.
The chocolate cake for $8 was awful. It tasted freezer burned, was only one layer, was exceedingly dry, and the frosting was melted and thin and bitter like Hershey syrup. A $1 hostess cupcake would have been better.
I am not picky. Neither are our dogs but even they and the cats wouldn't eat the Halibut even when I washed off the sauce. I know it's savage but I'm not exaggerating when I say I've had day old Totinos pizza out of the garbage that was...
Read moreFirst, let me say the website marketing is REALLY good. So good, that for the prices they charge, I thought this was going to be a real steakhouse. Problems: #1. The service was horrible. No one acknowledge me when I walked in, no "Can I help you? Here's a menu"- nothing. When my friend and I got to the table, we were offered bread but no plates. We were literally eating the bread off the table (during the time of Covid none the less). We were a party of 4 and were one of the first "reserved" tables that came in before the rush hour, however, we waited for over an hour and 20 minutes to be served and waited well after several other tables (that came later) were served. Lastly, when we tried to split the bill at the end of dinner, we were told that only 5 people and over were "allowed" to split the bill. INSANE- especially when the bill is super high because the prices are quite high. At this point, I was DONE for good with place.
#2. The food was... way below standards for a steakhouse. Actually, it's not steakhouse quality AT ALL. I didn't even finish my $20 bison burger because it was sooo darn greasy. The flavors were below average and quite mediocre. I hear, however, that the fish and chips are pretty good. Overall the food quality is more like a greasy diner. Definitely NOT even close to...
