Decided I wanted to lighten my hair. I’m new to the area and saw great reviews! To make a long story short I’m pretty innocent and clueless on the bleaching process. Hence me willing to pay top dollar for a quality dye job by a professional… I saw the same hair stylist 3 times within several months. Each time I went in I obviously wanted my roots done however I wasn’t fond of the brassy orange so always asked her to go a couple shades lighter… Each time she dyed my entire head…leaving roots and greys.. After the 3rd time of me leaving with greys and a trump shade I was boiling… You should NeVeR leave a classy salon with greys and roots. I was on verge of a nervous breakdown wanting to be rich and fly my previous Paul Mitchell Salon certified hairstylist out from Kentucky! Heard of toner but still don’t fully understand it…. Well, my new stylist at a great salon in Elko informed me I got a “chemical haircut” and asked why did she keep dying your entire head instead of just the roots? Apparently and as I now know and witnessed… all I needed was proper toner… I lost about 8 inches min. from these three sneaky chemical haircuts. It made me feel extremely insecure and made a fool of for months and we are still babying my fragile hair… I never was down for the nightmare I experienced there. I’m just thankful for hoodies, headbands etc. We did know a mutual person she herself wasn’t very fond of but I wasn’t too fond of her either but it does make me wonder if I was a victim of a pre meditated act of hate. I just moved here from a big city and I was so very excited to find an actual Aveda salon IN ELKO!! I am very particular about my hair color and only Aveda will do. (If you've never used Aveda color you are doing your hair a disservice!)

The FACIAL was amazing!!! Perfect pressure on everything, great technique - I cannot wait to go back for another!!! I was so relaxed that, if I hadn't had a hair appointment right after, I might've curled up on their beautiful couch and taken a nap! (Only slightly kidding lol)

My HAIR color turned out fantastic!!!! The highlights were great and the cut was exactly what I wanted. All my grey is gone and, as always with Aveda hair color, my hair is still just as soft and wonderful as always. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! I really hate to leave a bad review but honesty is always best. The girl who cut my hair was just the sweetest and I’m sure she does great on long hair. Unfortunately she wasn’t practiced enough in the cut I wanted. I left the salon with unstyled hair, she didn’t have the tools to style it, and my hair looks like a mushroom/bowl cut. I wanted something feminine and it’s very much like a bad 90s boys cut 💔. I cried when I got to my car. I had already had one bad haircut and was hoping this was the place to have something cute, fun and edgy done. The front is fixable as I’ll just do it at home but because the back is so short it’s not fixable. It’s very uneven and looks nothing like I wanted. I’m willing to pay hundreds to have my hair done right but unfortunately I just have bad luck with salons.
