Western Folklife Center — Attraction in Elko

Very unprofessional staff in charge of renting out the theater rooms. Tried to reserve the theater for almost a month (27 days) of having most of my emails ignored for days and having to send two emails before a reply (sent 13 total) just to be told that even though i plainly said i wanted to rent the venue and to please tell me how FIVE times i'm finally told, after waiting NINE days and sending two more emails that they rented out the room that day. THEN lied and said they sent me an email telling me so. They sent no such email. And before the emails i had left 3 or 4 voicemails over a space of two weeks asking to please contact me so i could reserve the venue. At least with email the was eventually a response. My kids friends and family will no longer be going to the center or cowboy poetry. My 10 year was there for a school trip and needed to use the bathroom teacher gave permission. One of the volunteers thought it would be OK to tell her no and shoved to were my daughter caught herself before hitting the ground. Took two days to hear from anyone at thr western folk center till two days later. Than asked what I wanted done (big hint there they didn't care.) Asked for at least an apology from the volunteers that put their hands on my kid and some other things.And yet it's been over a week and I still have not received that phone call.So we'll no longer be going there for I cannot tell for safety wise if a stranger will be putting hands on...

It would be considerate if this venue would post when they are going to be closed for inventory online. We saved visiting here for the last day of our weekend trip and we’re very disappointed to find out that they are closed for two days for inventory. There were not flocks of people trying to get in, so perhaps taking inventory while you welcome guests might be something yo consider in the future. I was planning to buy gifts to take home so guess we will go home empty handed. We could have come in on Saturday, had we known it would be closed. We had a nice time in Elko this weekend and this is not a great ending...
