After hearing Teppanyaki hailed as a local favorite, we finally made our way in—and it turns out, the buzz is well-earned. This was one of the last few restaurants we had yet to try since moving to Elko, and it delivered a satisfying surprise.
🍜 The Food I opted for the tofu and vegetables over noodles with their signature Teppanyaki sauce. The vegetables were cooked just right—tender with a bit of bite—and the tofu was impressively seasoned. My husband had the chicken entrée with rice and vegetables, both generous and flavorful. Each dish came with what they called “egg rolls,” though they were actually spring rolls—crispy, light, and a pleasant addition.
💁♀️ The Service Service was prompt and friendly. Our server was attentive and kind, though we couldn’t catch her name—no name tag in sight. If management reads this, please pass along our thanks to the young woman working the evening shift on September 23rd —she made our visit smooth and welcoming.
🧼 Housekeeping Note One small but important observation: the host/order taker/cashier/expeditor also handled bussing duties. While multitasking is commendable, we noticed the same towel was used to wipe the seats first, then the tabletops. For the sake of food safety and guest health, we’d like to gently flag this practice.
According to Sani-safe guidelines from Stericycle: “Wiping seats with the same cloth used for a food preparation or dining surface can transfer germs like E. coli and Salmonella from the chair to the table.” “Seats come into contact with clothing and hands, which can introduce bacteria and viruses that aren't typically present on tabletops. Wiping them separately ensures that germs from the seats are not transferred to surfaces where food is served.”
We share this not as criticism, but as a community-minded reminder. Teppanyaki has earned its place among Elko’s favorites, and with a few tweaks, it can continue to shine...
Read moreStopped in Elko on our way through to California. Walked to this place from a hotel nearby. Pleasantly surprised with the great, friendly service.
Cecilia was awesome! She helped us pick from the food options, but more than that - she helped a couple visitors by telling us where to get groceries and a few other things. She also gave us the takeout menu and showed us how to order on their website.
One of the hardest decisions our family makes when visiting a new town is where to eat and the customer service is always a huge unknown.
But of course, we want good food, too. And it was. We ordered shrimp egg rolls, spam musubi, large shrimp teppanyaki with noodles, and noodle soup with chicken. It was all yummy! And the spam musubi - my treat - was really good and big. Probably the best value for what we got.
We would totally come...
Read moreI was in town for 1 night, and I gave this place a shot. Upon walking in I instantly almost walked out cause it appeared to have the vibe of a fast-food restaurant. And I wasn't wanting fast-food. Then, the server's courteous and welcoming demeanor disarmed me, and helped keep me in the building.
I ordered the Salmon Teppanyaki. The server told me it'd take 15 minutes as they make their food fresh. I told her I was glad to wait as I had nowhere to be. Exactly 15 minutes later my food arrived. The server thoughtfully brought me chopsticks, Teriyaki sauce and soy sauce. The rice and salmon were hot, and tasted fresh. The salmon was cooked perfectly, imo. Good bang for my buck because the portions were good for what I paid.
Wow! So glad I stuck it out at Teppanyaki. If I ever again visit Elko I'd love to give this restaurant...
