Aspens Steakhouse — Restaurant in Elko

Was very excited to try the short ribs and ordered them. For $72 I had high expectations. The salad was horrible. The tomatoes looked like they had been frozen and were a brownish/green. I had asked for extra ranch and was assured that I did get extra ranch but it had to have been less than a once. The soup was a butternut squash with an extremely small amount of lump crab meat on top. The soup was ok. The short ribs finally came out after well over an hour. I have had much better roast beef dinners at Denny’s. The gravy they barely drizzled over the meat and extremely small portion of mashed potatoes was straight out of a jar. Food was trash, way too expensive, and they dont even have a chef! Why go here when pine lodge is 1000 times better and half the price; I get it if it was comped place is ran by some kid Leo and Jessica a horrible manager that needs to be fired for unprofessionalism and harassment towards employees! All the food is from Sysco, the Mac and cheese from a bag, the mashed potatoes from a bag, steaks from a bag nothing is fresh; the lobster meat that is used in lobster rolls from a bag, crab meat from crab stuff mushrooms from a bag, the steaks are all frozen; everything is frozen in that kitchen. People paying money for frozen steaks and seafood....

This restaurant is very over priced for the quality of food. We ordered the porterhouse for two ($150) and it was very over cooked and didn’t have flavor/seasoning. I normally don’t ask for steak sauce but I needed it for this meal.

The atmosphere and service was top notch. The wait staff were prompt, professional, and very friendly. I feel bad that they have to deliver poor quality food to the customer.
