I recently visited Buzz Inn Steak House, and while the restaurant primarily caters to the local community, I was deeply disappointed by the lack of a welcoming atmosphere for international visitors. Regrettably, my experience with the service fell considerably short of my expectations. Despite patiently waiting for 20 minutes, my party and I were not provided with menus. It was disheartening to witness that when another white couple arrived, they were promptly attended to, highlighting an unfortunate inconsistency in the level of service. This left me feeling disheartened and undervalued as a customer.
Adding to my disappointment was the feeling that the staff assumed I was unfamiliar with the English language, despite my ability to understand and communicate fluently. The condescending manner in which I was treated, as if I had just arrived in the country yesterday, was profoundly disconcerting. It is disheartening to experience such a lack of respect and inclusion in a restaurant setting, where the focus should be on providing exceptional service to all patrons, regardless of their background or nationality.
Furthermore, my food order further compounded my negative experience. Despite specifically requesting a cheesesteak, the waiter seemed to misunderstand my request and brought me something entirely different. This lack of attention to detail was unfortunate and further contributed to my overall disappointment with the restaurant.
Given the combination of these factors, I have made the decision not to return to Buzz Inn Steak House. However, it is important to note that my choices were limited due to attending an event at the Gorge Amphitheatre, where alternative Asian restaurants were not available.
It is disheartening to encounter any form of racism or discrimination towards international visitors. I implore Buzz Inn Steak House to reflect on this feedback and make concerted efforts to improve their service, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all customers, regardless of their background. Embracing diversity and treating each patron with respect and fairness should be fundamental principles for any establishment.
I sincerely hope that Buzz Inn Steak House takes this feedback to heart and strives to rectify these issues, ensuring a positive experience for all...
Read moreInside - The bathrooms are dated and dark but seem clean enough. The decor is dark but appropriate for a steakhouse and location. Direct lighting over the table was bright enough to read the menu with out breaking out the cellphone. The staff is fairly attentive and are trained to the level expected of a side of the highway restaurant.
The food - The bacon wrapped steak (half price before 1600 on Sunday) was prefect, wish I would have ordered four of those and not ordered the 18 oz bone in rib. It was cooked blue as ordered cool on the inside with light marking on the surface, but it had the marbling of a Select cut from the small end (I don't recall if the grade was stated in the menu). That is less enjoyable to eat as it is missing the nice juicy, highly marbled cap of meat above the primary fat cap. It had some seasoned salt thing on it, doesn't really add or detract from the other wise lean meat taste. Should have got more butter on the side to help, but was worried about it being processed seed oil. The price with the sides (if you eat those) was fair. The protein load will make you feel full, avoiding the plant sides will keep you from feeling stuffed and bloated and it was fun to pull the Periosteum off the bone and really work to get the connective tissue in the joint.
Parking - A few shady spots in the lot with plenty of truck and trailer parking at the flying J next door.
Pokemon - One stop at the flying J an okay number of spawns, but don't waste your time with incense or lures.
Notes - If you think fat causes heart disease or are watching your macros and counting body fat burned towards your energy balance for the day, then enjoy the 89g of protein. If you love your steak, carnivore, or have learned that humans are fat hunters and know the healing power of meat, well you'll be disappointed and it will serve as a reminder to buy that Choice Ribeye (from the tasty large end) for $8/lb and pack it along with your portable burner, cast iron pan, grass fed butter, and salt to keep you fat fueled and saving money along with the environment. #meatheals...
Read morePlace was busy, server was good. All the steaks were cooked wrong, we all asked for medium rare cooks. My husband's was blue, my son in laws was super well and mine medium. My husband sent his back and didn't want a recook. I ordered the tri topper for my steak which I didn't get. This was all easy to deal with. The bartender was rude, condescending and down right disrespectful. She was complaining as loud as she could about everything. She over filled my shots, I ordered 3, making it impossible to not spill on my way back to the table. Her customer service was lack luster at best. She was training the new hire, whom she was rude to too, on how to make Old Fashion, my husband watched as she added a packet of sugar to it! That is not how you make it, she used an old orange rind as well, she was upset that he asked the drink be made with Makers Mark, almost as if it offended her.. My husband declined the drink stating that it was made incorrectly. When I went to pay our bill my husband's steal was still on there. I told the server, she was like oh so sorry let me get that fixed. Mind you this girl was super busy, I honestly felt bad for her. When she came back on my ticket was written customer said food was gross, I was saddened to see that on there for that was not the reason for the refund, the steak was raw, it wasn't even cooked on one side really at all. My review is mainly for the bartender, whom I believe needs have a performance evaluation if she was my employee, and the cook on the steaks at a steak house. My server was sweet and working her butt off to...
