Should be a one star, but the lady with the Mohawk is rocking it hard and she gets ALL the stars!! Came to park and do laundry. Parking was a success. Called the store from the parking lot to see if their laundry facilities were, in fact, working. Was placed on hold. After fifteen minutes, I walked to the store. Still on hold, I spoke to the same person that put me on hold. I explained that I was on hold, showed her that I was at the 17 minute 25 seconds mark and counting. I told her I needed a simple question answered if she wasnāt too awfully busy. Which, she wasnāt. I washed my laundry in one machine, and in an effort to wrap this up quickly, I paid for the two lower dryers. When they were half way through the cycle I checked the lint filter. Thatās when it became most obvious, there was no heat. Although, I made absolutely certain to set it to high heat. This isnāt the first time in 33 years of being out here that my lovely wife has allowed me to do laundry on my own. I went and spoke to the very not so busy young lady with the big bull nose ring, what with her indifference towards me, said I would need to speak with the manager. I already knew where this was going. I chucked my stuff in the two upper dryers. They are working. I wished the manager would put some sort of out of order sign on them, but he didnāt. The website that this fly by night laundry company has, goes straight to GoDaddy as a website available for purchase. The phone number? Yeah, they were closed ten minutes before I discovered this minor issue. Sure, Iāll get my $4.00 back in a month or six, but Iāll never get the time of my life Iāve wasted back. For that, there is no amount of compensation. Youāve been warned. 6/10/24 Update 6/11/24; Called the company that owns the washers and dryers. A man from India said he needs the address. I gave it to him. He said that address is incorrect. FRAUD! So I went in to ensure the address. FRAUD! It is correct. FRAUD! The manager today listened to my tale and immediately refunded my whopping $4.00. Something tells me FRAUD this place is making a pretty penny by people who donāt complain. Iāll be back in the future, Iāll just need verification that, in fact, frost on the ground has been...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe place is old and run down from the very very rough parking lot to the diesel pumps to the convenience store, bathrooms, and showers. The restaurant seemed to have been well maintained.
We did have a shower on this visit. As I stated, it was old and run down. However, it was clean and functional.
We did eat at the restaurant too. I tend to think pricing has increased substantionally faster than truck driving wages so I found it typically expensive for reasonable food. I had bacon and eggs. The bacon was proper and properly cooked - as were my overeasy eggs.
The location is a franchise and so although it will accept Pilot/FlyingJ rewards points for payment, participates in the shower program, and gives points for diesel purchases - it does not participate in the coffee club. It was not my free coffee purchase that they wouldn't honour. They wouldn't count my coffee purchase towards the 9 bought to 1 free coffee club. Pretty lame to not do such a small thing.
Speaking of diesel pumps and going back outside... the pumps are old and do not have DEF dispensers at the fuel islands. DEF has now been a requirement for trucks for many years. The lack of easy DEF is why we generally don't fuel here and so don't even usually stop here.
Although adequate in a pinch - this is not a great place. It needs updating badly and should take their FlyingJ sign down if they are not going to be a FlyingJ. I don't care that it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot a fan of the retro shabby vibe of the drivers area. I think they made it a theme so it looks purposeful instead of having to pay for updates, which is smart. Also not a fan of the process to sign up for a shower since they don't use the app. And trying to get them to explain it to me and then put me in line was like pulling teeth and took way longer than it should have. It was like they didn't want to do it. Then they didn't "holla at me" to let me know the shower was ready like they said they would. The janitor informed me he thinks my shower may be ready since he noticed I was sitting there a long time. Also didnt like waiting in the drivers lounge for someone to yell at me. Text or call would be better. But it was worth it when I saw the janitor cleaning after every guest. And with an actual cleaning solution too. Most pilots/flying js don't even look in the room before making it available for next person, or sometimes you'll get the water dried up from the previous if you're lucky. After that I wanted to like this one so much. But when I was there they had almost nothing to eat. Nothing in hot box and the cold shelfs were pretty bare with few choices. Pretty much just a couple dry sandwiches. Prices are ridiculous. The soda in the fountains are mixed with a lot of water. Should make the janitor the manager. I think this place...
