Kloter's Ice Cream Barn — Restaurant in Ellington

unfortunately i have to leave a one star review, which to be honest i never feel the need to leave anywhere bad reviews, i just will not give the establishment any more of my money but this one was different. it was my first time here yesterday and i came with my daughter and fiancé, when i walked up to the window to order i was not greeted even though we said hello. i was just stared at, then my first question is what is the blue ice cream i see everyone with...the girl at the window then told me "oh its blue food coloring" like that wasnt already obvious, i said so does it taste like vanilla or what, what is the flavor? she then proceeded to tell me the flavor rudely and with a poor attitude. at that moment i wanted to walk away from this establishment but i did not want to disappoint my 4 year old who was excited to have ice cream because she had a negative attitude. i ordered my ice cream, paid and then was given my ice cream with speedy service that was appreciated. i then went to sit by the fireplace and enjoy my ice cream but the entire time im being started at by the girl who took my order, i continue to sit there and eat my ice cream as i hear her greeting other customers and speaking to them in a pleasant respectful manner, wondering why she wasnt this way with me? ive never thought to even pull the race card until i look around and realize my daughter and fiancé are the only darker skin toned...

Update: Had to stop in and get a grogru inspired sundae for May 4th. Was delicious and as always, my pup enjoyed his cup. Their hard scoop ice cream flavors change throughout the season, best way to stay updated is to follow their Facebook group. Prices have been raised so just be aware that the website prices are not accurate. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I got a sundae to split. Very generous portions on my sundae. It was very busy when I visited and the line wrapped around the building. The workers are fairly efficient at getting your orders though so it’s worth the wait. There’s plenty of seating. Dog friendly and you can get them a sweet treat too.

Lovely ice cream shop with a variety of flavors....

Ever since I was a young girl I’ve wanted to outfit our home with furniture from Kloter Farm. The commercial was forever playing in my head :) The time has come- we visited this past week and dreams do come true! Sarah, Emily, Noah and Mary were not only the most knowledgeable individuals we’d ever met but also the nicest. To put the icing on the cake…we got to meet founder Keith and his lovely bride Mary!! From start to finish- the team helped us pick out and design our dream furniture. What makes it so incredibly heartwarming is that everything is reasonably priced. Quite frankly- for the quality and customer service- I’d pay double! They ARE THAT GOOD!! Kudos Kloter Farm for 45 years of making another...
