Charlie's Pizza & Sub Shop — Restaurant in Ellsworth

I waited 1 1/2 hours before calling about where my order, which I had already paid for, was. They have been here before, and I live only 1 mile away. I was given many excuses (new person, going to the wrong place, wrong phone number, etc.), and was told I would be getting a replacement order immediately. After another 35 minutes, I called again. I was told it just went out, but I told them I had waited long enough, and just wanted to cancel the order--after all it had been over 2 hours. I wanted assurances that my card would be credited, but I was left hanging on the phone, listening to the clerk talk to some else on another phone. I hung up after 5 minutes. No one called me back, and the order, which I was told had gone out, never did show up. I will never order...

Pizza always arrives cold, they almost never answer the phone if it's even remotely close to their "closing time". For example this evening, may 5th 2020. Tried calling for a full half an hour and never once did someone answer the phone. This isnt a very professional way to do business. I certainly wont be recommending this place to anyone. I'd be very embarrassed if the same thing happened to someone I told to order from here. You may want to keep in mind, bad business travels at the rate of 13 people, good business travels at the rate of 7 people. That means 1 person will tell at minimum, 13 individuals about a bad experience, compared to a small 7 individuals about...

Charlies is my go-to for pizza. The crust is always nice and fluffy and the toppings are always fresh.. If there is ever an issue it has always been corrected. (Once my mom got a kinda burnt loaded pizza that he refunded.) Charlie himself is a great guy. Not many businesses have made it as long as he has and that says a lot about his pizza. 10/10 will continue to get my pizza from Charlie as long as ellsworth is lucky enough to have him.
