I came up from Massachusetts to visit my Uncle whom lives in Steuben Maine ( for me that’s a 5 hour drive) And for the past 5 years he always said there was no good pizza places he knew of. He doesn’t get out much . But I asked a few people when I was shopping at Shaws in Ellsworth ( everyone is so friendly in Maine ) about places to eat while I was up here but I was most interested in finding PIZZA - I’m very picky and Italian so you know…😉 So people named a few good restaurants but when asked about authentic Pizza , every person mentioned “Zeppa’s Pizza” that they all loved it , that I could dine in or take out plus they had other food options as well. So I went after shopping and talked to a very nice woman told her that her place had been highly recommended and that I’d been without Pizza for 2 weeks. I bought a Large extra cheese and when she brought it out to me ( I wish I could remember her name ) she was very kind and friendly to me and the place inside looked so cozy that next time I want my Uncle to come and eat there with me , very welcoming and homey. So the woman brought me my Pizza she gave me a Home Made Cannoli as a gift . I hadn’t even checked out the sweets they offered. I want to thank her for her kindness and tell her that was one of the best Cannoli’s I’ve had. So if you’re not used to not knowing where to go for Excellent Pizza and want to eat in or take out, plus very kind people. Make sure to go to Zeppa’s , I will go one more time before I head back to Massachusetts and now know where to go in the future when I come up to visit my Uncle every time I come to visit - Pizza problem solved and delicious dessert 😃 Thank You For The Melt in your mouth...
Read moreIf you have not tried Zeppas in Ellsworth yet, you are missing out! We went for the first time tonight and were blown away!
We got the lobster garlic knot slider (for only $8.50!), a half pepperoni half cheese with basil, a white pizza with extra Basil, a meatball garlic knot slider and a mini cannoli - only $2! (We ate the last 2 too fast to get a pic!)
The lobster garlic knot was better than most lobster rolls in the area, it was full of lobster and I was honestly full after eating it!
The pizza crust is thin and it's a perfect combination of crispy but soft and chewy. All the ingredients taste super fresh and high quality. The pepperoni had a smokiness to it that really enhanced the sauce. The white pizza was one of the best ones I've had in the area.
The cannoli had a hint of lemon to them and the counter person told us it's a family recipe from Italy from 3 generations ago.
The atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming and the Playlist for music is super fitting. Cost was fair. We ordered a lot of food and got two drinks, so for the two of us it was $80 with 20% tip included.
Everything was delicious and the staff were SO NICE and inviting. Like the people working here went above and beyond in the customer service department.
I HIGHLY recommend making the drive down to check them out. This place...
Read moreI'm from the Flint area in Michigan. I saw pics and read reviews while staying in Trenton and I had a sneaking suspicion that their pie would be very close to my beloved hometown now defunct Sicily's Pizza of Flint. Phone call to order it wouldn't go thru so we headed right there to order in person knowing closing time was coming. Man what a cool place inside. Chill vibe to it. Anyways I place the order then the guy was told that's the last order for the night. I made it. Let me tell you I been bummed out since our family favorite Sicily's was forced to close due to Covid Deaths within their own family. Nothing I mean nothing compared to their Za coming out of the same oven since about 1955. Zeppas is the exception. I was floored how close their Za is to my hometown favorite we loved for so long. I would put this pie up against any on the eastern sea board. And all I had was cheese n pepperoni!! ask for it well done for that Char taste too. Unreal. So good. The best now IMO. If only I didn't live in...
