El Tapatio — Restaurant in Elmira Township

It was my first time eating there it was less than great. There were tiny baby shrimp like salad shrimp and the shrimp burrito was mostly just rice and there wasn't even a lot of it maybe 20 to. 30 salad shrimpp through the whole big burrito for 1575. I wanted to love it The beans were very bad the rice was great. I ordered a dip of chrizo with white sauce dip not a dip ill post pics. I'm not great. It came as a plate of sausage. I hate leaving bad reviews but please save yourself and do not eat there. In all fairness I called about the dip cause. I had cracked into the burrito yet and the guy was nice at birth. I had to argue with him for a little bit and then he offered a free dip up the next time I came in while that doesn't mean it. We were coming through South Dakota and after reading reviews we thought we would try this place. I ordered a combo with taco and chili relleno, soft. They came back and said they had no soft rellenos tonight, only crispy. I had never heard of a crispy relleno but decided to try it. The taco wasn't bad, the chips and salsa were not bad. Their refried beans were too salty and the rice was cold. The chili relleno was absolutely disgusting. I had one or two bites and that was it. There was nothing that tasted like a relleno. I read the reviews and must differ with the claims of California style Mexican food. The service was great and the atmosphere was good. The food quality was fair. The beans were too runny. It took a little too long to get our food - they were not busy by any means. I took one review suggestion for the spicier salsa. It was spicy enough alone without mixing it. The regular salsa had an odd flavor - too much like onion, I think. The charge for chips! Are you kidding me? And the tiny bowl of salsa, maybe that matches the region. Seriously, I would recommend the restaurant just down the street and I don't mean Max's. But we had to try...
