We got the Chicago deep dish pizza & agree it’s not a deep dish. It tasted fine but it’s a thinner/regular crust with high edges. My high school boys were disappointed. Our large cheese/pep was dropped on its way out of the oven so it arrived 10 min behind the rest of the food & was also fine. We also got a summer salad & was told they were out of cranberries so I asked for some red onions. Salad was fine, champagne dressing was good & they did have cranberries so that was nice. No real complaints other than they charged almost a $1 for 4 slivers of red onion. It was totally ridiculous. I get it if you asked for double the goat or feta cheese or olives, something that has some true expense but for a few slices of red onion!? I actually appreciated they didn’t overload my salad with red onion but couldn’t believe the charge, especially when I only asked for it because they were supposedly out of cranberries. It’s really annoying when servers don’t communicate an extra charge, particular on something there usually isn’t an extra charge & it was really subbing for something that the restaurant ran out of (cranberries). It was also particularly annoying because they dropped our pizza & we didn’t get all of our food with the rest of our group. The server was nice & attentive at first but we waited a while for the check, then I finally asked him for mine. He didn’t bring anyone else’s & they were trying to get his attention to get their check. I even ended up taking him my friend’s credit card as he chatted with another patron trying to check out to get to a hand. Really clueless management & service but I guess they can be when there’s lots traffic from LakePointe. The place is also extremely loud if there are big groups which is often with the sports teams. This would all be fine if the service & management was better but it’s striking out for me on too many places. Drop food, charge for dumb things (& don’t even make it worth it for the charge) & make no apologies for their mistakes… I think next time I’ll head into Cartersville to see if we have better luck & maybe it won’t...
Read moreUpdated review..... Have to drop it a notch given a crew of us ordered "Deep Dish" pizza again today and received exactly what I received many moons ago. The pizza was anything deep or dish. I say take it off the menu instead of disappointing the expectant customer.
Previous, "Benefit of the Doubt" Review.... Ok, this place is really the best place for families and the service is amazing (We had the best waitress tonight who wonderfully served our large party) and the food is top notch…SOOOO this critique is meant to be constructive and not done in a mean spirit, but with hopeful consideration. My wife and I were so excited to see listed a Chicago style “Deep Dish” pizza on the menu. And for the price, we expected just that. And while the pizza was tasty, it was anything but “deep” or “dish”. In fact, it was thinner than any NY style pizza out there. The Pics says it all including the menu description of it but now wondering if by saying "pan" is why its so thin? Either way, it still goes against the premise of deep dish. I also posted an actual pic of what a Deep Dish ought to look like. Listen, if you guys decide to have this on your menu, please follow through with a Chicago style deep dish pizza…..and not just a thick crust or the Emerson lite version of it…… If we had received what we thought we were paying for, I promise you my wife and I would come back for the pizza itself and would pay any amount for the pie without hesitation!
You are the first place this side of Atlanta with any offering of this type of pizza. We’ve looked!
Again, just a consideration. Because the truth is, the Lake Point is Phenomenal, St. Angelo’s really is a top tier restaurant and the service in both areas are the...
Read moreOur server was really good and very attentive and was regularly asking if we needed refills or anything the one downside about the place is if you got a big butt the chairs hurt all metal chairs that have the close sides on them in the back of the seat so unless you sit forward on the chair seat you know those two pieces of metal kind of cut into you. We ordered around 6:00 p.m. the place was full and we had our pizza by 6: 20. We got the "Chicago deep dish pizza" and it's really not authentic Chicago deep dish pizza it's like a thin crust on the inside and the tall crust on the outside and there was plenty of cheese but the other toppings were lacking and we didn't add anything to it except extra sauce and the sauce is not like authentic Italian pizza sauce it's good, probably better than Pizza Hut or Marcos or even Papa John's. Other than that everything was good it was not that expensive and it was pretty cool that the place that it was in had bowling, Putt-Putt and laser tag a game room and climbing area is pretty good little place for people to bring their kids or maybe a church group and hang out. One of their Putt-Putt courses is inside nine hole and lit with black lights! Looks really neat inside. The place is a little far from our house but at some point I think we will probably go up there and definitely do the Putt-Putt and try some other Pizza that they have. Overall good dining experience. I think you...
