Marshall’s Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Emory

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS BBQ. Read the reviews they were great so that helped make my decision to try Marshall's. My husband and I were very disappointed. This is not bbq. Sauce was too tangy for our liking, we like a more sweet smoked meat. They plop a bunch of pulled pork not seasoned meet on a hamburger bun with no sauce and they call that a BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Family owned but young girl taking the order was not friendly just straight to the point to order food. Way high price for nothing good. $31 apprx for 1/2 rack of ribs, Texas toast, mac n cheese. Ouch... hardly no sides worth while you can get French fries anywhere nowadays, mac n cheese wasn't bad, but not hot more like cool medium. Definitely was not impressed. We pretty much threw away all of our food. It was such a waste. If this is what Texas BBQ taste like, you better go to Mississippi for the real deal. The location was cute and country style but...

First-timers to the area (traveling the US) and wanted to have a good Texas BBQ! We looked up on Google maps and Yelp where a good restaurant would be near where we were staying. Both showed us high ratings for Marshall’s Barbecue Pit. Driving in they have a fenced-in yard with lots of games for both kids and adults to play. The wonderful smell of BBQ was in the air. There is a small covered drive-up area to order from if you didn't want to eat there. There's a large covered area with picnic tables for sitting about 40 or more. The area was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered “The Mashell Platter” give us Brisket, Ribs, Turkey, Pulled Pork, and Sausage, with two sides, (we chose) barbecue beans and coleslaw. This place is amazing!!! We stopped by on our trip from Austin and we loved it! You never know with BBQ places. But this surpassed our greatest expectations. Very cute place, the owner obviously spent some time and money making it look like a nice BBQ place with a bit of modern to it (loved the fancy garage roll up windows).The customer service was excellent, friendly and happy to help us. But most importantly… the BRISKET! The SAUSAGE! My daughter got lean brisket and I specifically asked for fatty brisket. Both were amazing and moist. Beans had fantastic taste with just a little bit of kick to them. Even the toast was spectacular - not just the typical white piece of bread thrown down at some other BBQ joints.
