Had an absolutely stellar experience. The dining area is a bit on the retro side, but comfortable and well-lit. Service was fantastic and friendly, free bread and butter come with the meal, as well as sides such as salad, and the staff were incredibly accommodating when asked for a to-go box.
The cook is actually European; you can tell he actually knows what he's doing because I had one of the best seafood pastas I've had in my life (and I was born in Spain). I tried a red wine with the Seafood combo (The combo being quite large, costing $20) and it paired fantastically. The sauce was heavy and made its presence well known, but wasn't overpowering. I saved a bit to microwave a day or so later — out of personal curiosity — and while it obviously was not as good the pasta and sauce still held up.
The meals are a touch pricy if looked at out of context, but the portions are significant in flavor and substance — and I'll take paying $16 for an incredible seafood fettuccine alfredo alongside salad and bread with butter on the side over paying $12 for a burger and some fries at Freddy's every single time. Loved my experience, 100% plan on going...
Read moreMy husband and I have been on a 3 week road trip to Colorado and heading home to PA. We decided to stop for dinner in Emporia, Kansas and looked at restaurant options. Palermo got some great reviews so we went. It was 5:00, looked closed but lights were on and decided to take a chance. So glad we did. Our waiter, Jose was awesome. Super friendly. Very helpful in going over the menu. We both had the most delicious pasta dishes, the rolls, homemade were delicious. Jose said business is slow in the area. That’s too bad. I know if we lived in the area, this would be one of our favorite spots. If you’re traveling, please give them a try, and if you’re local, please support them. You...
Read moreI was driving through and needed to stop to eat. It sounded like a very authentic Italian restaurant, but it was far from that. My family is Italian, so I know great Italian food. I had the lasagna with house salad. This was the worst Italian food I’ve eaten in a long time. Salad had brown on it and the Italian dressing looked like they snagged it from Walmart. Just mediocre bread with no olive oil and basaltic vinegar to dip it in. Lasagna was so greasy. Ground beef looked old. The sauce just had no flavor. The worse part is it had about a pound of cheese in it. The lasagna tasted like it got cooked last week. Just an embarrassment. I’ll never eat at this...
