Customer service is pretty bad here. I have ate in the restaurant and gotten to go orders a handful of times because this pizza place was a little closer to my house than the others I like, but for about the same price or less there is other pizza places in the area that are just as good and that fully appreciate loyal customers. I had been an easy customer in the past I never complained and tipped good for the service I was getting but after my last experience I won’t ever step foot in there again cause the level of laziness and disrespect given.
I called in a to go order at 8:20 and got a vm so tried back at 8:25 left a vm and heard nothing and tried back at 8:33 and got a vm again and so tried driving 10 mins there to place an order in person cause I really wanted pizza and this pizza place was closest to my house. I got there at 8:45 and there were 6 or so tables eating there and tried to order but the guy said he had to check with the kitchen at 8:45 when they advertise they are open until 9pm and he said the kitchen said they were closed. Then I said to that server and another guy standing behind the counter I called 3 times and left a vm and the other guy standing there said he answers the phone and said he was busy and that the kitchen normally closes at 8:30pm and to come earlier next time if I want a pizza. I know this is BS cause I have ordered after 8:30pm before there and this was just pure laziness and disrespect. They weren’t that busy there were 6 tables still eating and unless 10 tables left in 10 minutes this was just a lazy excuse. After this happening I wondered why I had been supporting this small business all this time eating in the restaurant and ordering to go when they clearly could care less about the customers supporting their business. I used to be a F&B manager for a hotel and a restaurant when I was younger and if I had denied service to someone 15 min before close I would of been reprimanded or fired for doing so. At the end of the day there is a lot of competition around and customers picking your restaurant over the others is what puts food on your table at the end of the day. I read some of the other reviews and how the owner responds back to people looks like a 12 year old is in charge of this place and if I had read through the reviews and seen how the owner responds/ manager responds I would have never supported this place. The owner claims to go orders aren’t important and they must be so successful that they treat people getting to go orders like second class citizens. Well I have ate in this restaurant too not just to go and I was an easy customer I never complained before and always gave a good tip. The claim the owner makes on reviews that you are not important to their business ordering to go is a good way to divert bad customer service and bad training there were a bunch of employees working that night and standing around not looking busy when I walked in. So I won’t be going back again in the future cause there is just as good pizza around for about the same price or less that appreciates you when you bring...
Read moreHas potential to be a go to special spot and food was and vibe was great but they got my order for a half vegan cheese half tomato order wrong twice. The second time they used vegan cheese but I could taste they had clearly still added the Gorgonzola (a pretty easy to detect, pungent cheese) on the vegan cheese side which I can’t consume.
The younger dude at the front was super apologetic but the manager or whoever was running things that night wrote it off and said that it could “never happen” basically saying I didn’t actually taste what I was tasting. Again, Gorgonzola is not exactly hard to taste lol.
I was with my tired toddler who didn’t get to eat any pizza after waiting over a full hour with having to wait twice due to getting the wrong pizza the first time so I just left and didn’t want to deal. Sucks to not get it fixed spending over $100 for a party of two (plus the small child) and also sucks to be told I’m not actually tasting what I clearly know I’m tasting.
I’d still recommend it but I’d be wary of going at high peak nights and unfortunately I think modifications don’t really get done properly with the volume of orders they’re dealing with which is also a shame because my simple modifications alone added an extra $8 to my pizza order (vegan cheese and splitting) bringing a singular pizza to nearly $40.
If a singular pizza will cost almost $40 it should be done right and if it isn’t I don’t think I should have to leave feeling a little robbed and told to just sort of put up for a dietary restriction they claim to accommodate and...
Read moreA beautiful day to have a nice lunch at the Coast. Happens to be at the Corner Pizza in Beach town Encinitas, CA, right off of Hwy 101. Menu was simple, the storefront was simple & clean. Staff was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about suggestions as I was inquiring about the menu selections. We had the Mushroom Queen large pizza and a Padrino salad. We sat outside at the patio and the food arrived in 17 mins. We ordered the pizza - extra crispy, and my husband sent it back to crisp up a bit more. Pizza - 12" was OK but over- topped with arugula greens ( why so much?) I added sausage to the toppings (paid extra) and It was obvious that they are cutting food cost with very sparse toppings, covered with the arugula greens so you won't notice? Crust was better after we had it re- toasted. The salad was over dressed with red wine vinegrette, actually pooled in bottom of the bowl. The greens was a good variety - chopped radicchio, romaine, cabbage, etc, a few pieces of mini mozzarella balls & salami bits. I got used to the sourness of the vinegrette after a minute as we were hungry. We spent $55 (incl 20% tip). Not impressed by the food, staff was efficient; suggestions to management - improve the quality of the pizza, the price point is ok as long as the pizza is well dressed. Review your salad builds - specially the dressing. A few more greenery & plants around your patio would make it more landscaped & welcoming. We will stop in again when...
