I have been eating here (and its previously named iterations) for more than 20 years. It is my favorite place for teriyaki. Their rice is so so so good. Sticky and slightly sweet. It is a great vehicle for the teriyaki sauce. And the chicken and steak are both cooked well, they aren't greasy or full of connective tissue. Now, the sauce. This sauce is to die for. I would buy it by the gallon, if they sold it that way. I moved from Encinitas to Santee almost 7 years ago, and I still drive up to eat, and buy sauce to go. They do sell bottles of sauce. It's sweet, but not too sweet. It doesn't have that excessive saltiness that is common with most store bought teriyaki. The viscosity is perfect, so it can be used for dipping, or pour it onto foods directly, and you aren't going to end up with too little or too much.
I don't have photos of the delicious food, the generous portions, or the glorious sauce. It is consumed far too quickly. It's just too...

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the teriyaki chicken. Marinated in their signature sweet-glazed sauce and grilled to perfection, the chicken was incredibly juicy and packed with flavor. You can taste the freshness in every bite, a testament to their commitment to quality and never-frozen ingredients.
The experience is further elevated by the friendly staff and quick service, making it an ideal spot for a casual lunch or dinner. Paired with steamed rice and a refreshing cabbage salad, the meal is both satisfying and delicious.

Read moreGreat food, fast service, and you can count on a good, healthy meal. I see comments about "not enough teriyaki for me." Ask for more! I always ask for more, and it's perfect. I love their salad dressing, too. The slaw is not too heavy. I like brown rice. Hubby likes white. And our son likes the sliders. Steak or chicken- make your choice. Highly recommend it for a quick, healthy lunch or dinner. We are regulars, and we go to all of the stores. They all seem consistent to me. The only negatives that I can say are that if it's been a while since they cooked the batch, sometimes the meat can be a bit dry. When it is freshly cooked...yum! Also, the Encinitas location could use a little freshen up, but it's doable. I may have to stop in tonight!...
