A soft breeze flows down the somewhat crowded street of Dearborn. Music played by amateur artists echo throughout the boulevard, complementing the atmosphere of culture coffee.
I find myself on a stroll with my lady, on a typical market Thursday. Being a regular of Culture Coffee, the Shop across the street, which shall remain nameless, due to my shame of wasting my money, beckons me to come in, a forbidden fruit that blossoms only deceit. I enter, my attaché in velvet concerned for my mental health, knowing this venture to be out of my norm.
I purchase a Double Shot. A Doppio? I don't know. I purchased a lugubrious cup of disappointment. It tasted like wood. Like a failed love story. Like sadness in a cup. My true place of belonging seems to sing for me across the street. With head lowered, and wallet ever-so-slightly lighter, I saunter with tail tucked back over to my first love.
I beg, nay, scream for forgiveness. Dan, obviously taken aback by my betrayal, somberly takes me back into his clientele, a tear running down his face, gracing his beard with a tease of emotion.
