The food here is absolutely immaculate. This place definitely deserves its rewards for best of dayton. My sister and I recently had lunch at Ozu852, and honestly, it was such a great experience. We both ordered the salmon lunch bento box, and everything about it was amazing. The salmon was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. It came with a generous amount of sauce that added even more richness without being too heavy.
One of the best surprises was the shrimp dumplings that came on the side. They were so good—light, juicy, and full of flavor. I think they might be my new favorite part of the bento. And I can’t forget the salad—the veggies were fresh and crisp, but it was the dressing that stole the show. It was so delicious I seriously could have drunk it.
We also tried a few of their sushi rolls, and they were just as impressive. The Volcano Roll had the perfect spicy kick and was super satisfying. The Pink Lady Roll was fresh and light with a nice balance of sweet and savory. And the American Dream Roll felt like exactly that—rich, flavorful, and really comforting. Each roll was beautifully made and clearly super fresh. Bravo to the chef!
On top of the great food, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure you have a good time. The whole place had a cozy, relaxed vibe that made us feel right at home.
If you’re craving delicious Chinese food with some standout sushi options, I’d definitely recommend checking out Ozu852. Everything we tried was packed with flavor, and the service made it even better. We’re already looking forward...

————————— Finally got around to trying this place. Cannot speak to their sushi, since I got a hibachi entree. I also did take out and don’t know if things are different dine-in. Love how my hibachi entree came with a salad, but honestly was really underwhelmed, disappointed, and frustrated with the portion sizes - especially for the price.
DO NOT get additional protein with hibachi entrees if you’re looking for more food. I paid $4 more for an additional protein and it was more a single serving of the mixed proteins rather than two servings of different proteins.
Overall portion sizes are far smaller than what you’d expect from a Chinese restaurant here. My to go order rice came with my entree in that black rectangular plastic thing (you know what I mean), as opposed to in a separate container. Wouldn’t necessarily be opposed to this except it meant that my double protein entree was only half that - for $16! I was hoping to have leftovers, like, it’dve been far insufficient if I had ordered that to share with someone.
Did not see kitchen but was told that there was not hibachi and that the dishes are prepared differently. They definitely have the sauce and flavor I think of with...
Read moreLived in Okinawa, Japan, China, and Thailand for nearly 11 years. I promise not to let that color my review. Ordered the hibachi steak and vegetables. I've had better microwave meals. In fact, they should check their microwave, as theirs heats unevenly...most of the dish was cold with a few hot spots. (I swear the veggies all had that frozen bag, same flavor, just different shaped vegetable taste) Kiddo had beef & broccoli...she was pleased. Wife had Generals Chicken, she's polite enough to just say she won't order it again. Our initial server was polite and professional. However she was replaced by an awkward kid that brought out everything at different times (daughter had half of her meal done by the time my plate hit the table. yes...the cold plate) we heard and read so many good things. Such a disappointment. Only redeeming qualities were our inirial server and the atmosphere. We'll go back in a few months to see if tonight was a fluke, but in the meantime we'll enjoy any of the other fine Asian restaurants Dayton...
