So let me explain. I was looking for a late night treat for my family and we were so excited to order!!
The desserts look just gorgeous online and even through travel, they were equally beautiful upon presentation when they arrived. they were packaged, presented and served well even going the distance.
Let’s talk visuals , experience and taste !
The coconut mousse is much smaller than it portrays on their website. Flecked with gold none the less. One of the reasons for a 3 instead of a 5.
The salted tiramisu though cut perfectly, it was slightly frozen in the middle which was an “imagination of absolute freshness “kill. And the dried fruit on top of the tiramisu was so hard and over dried and flavorless that it was almost inedible and indistinguishable. It tasted like plastic.
Recommendation: send a cute note to thaw for 1 hour. Will deplete that issue and probably enhance flavor a bit. I’ve gotten frozen desserts with instructions to thaw before consuming if this is intended, however, I don’t think it was. Leave the dried fruit off if you don’t stand to improve it. It’s off putting.
The cake with whip and cut mangos…technically a win…cake so light and fluffy…very joyful in appearance although missing the purple flower adornment as advertised..,(relevant I promise) still cute. Could’ve been beautiful but cute.
Finally, while the hand for technique is clearly present , sadly, flavor is not present almost at all.
Between 3 very different desserts, I barely tasted any difference in their base profiles.
It just didn’t meet the mark for flavor and each very one...
Read moreI want to preface this review by saying I think everyone has their own preferences on milk teas and this is based off of one visit, so if anything changes in future visits, I will be updating this review.
The 3 stars for me means this place is OK. It has some things going for it, and some things that weren't my preference, which I'll go into detail now.
Pros: great internet adequate seating if you're trying to study (but from what I sort of noticed, not a lot of outlets) good ambiance, if you're ok with noise boba had good texture. Not too soft or hard, but definitely more on the softer and chewier side definitely somewhere you can go for IG pics if you want cute pics haha I really like their decorations
Cons: I wasn't a fan of their Green Milk Tea nor their Thai Tea. As stated above, it's totally personal preference, and I think it's the milk they use. Idk what it is exactly but it just wasn't the same as other places. the jazz music they play is honestly too loud for me. I feel like music in cafes should moreso be background music, and you should be able to tune it out if you're working on something, but I could not tune this out at all even through my headphones. If you do need silence, do not come here!
Neutral: this place isn't busy in the day but gets busy at night, so be prepared for crowds later in the day you get a mix of different crowds, from families,...
Read moreA chic trendy cafe with a rustic decor, almost like a moonlit ambiance...it works since their name is "La Luna" I wonder if that's the effect they were going for. Man I felt old...this place was packed with teenyboppers...err teens. I think i might have been one of 3 adults inside...lol. I stopped by to procure a Matchamisu Box after seeing pics on social media. These pics peaked my curiosity...I had no idea what a Matchamisu Box was...I assumed some sort of dessert. Sooo glad I stopped by here!
Sugar: ~ Matchamisu Box - 5/5 I'm guessing from the name, this delectable perfection of a dessert is a Matcha Tiramisu. Doh! It is...I just looked a the menu! lol I'm a huge Matcha fan.. This is probably one of the best Matcha Tiramisu I had, if not the best...seriously. This can rival anything that comes out of Japan or and other Asian country! Not too bitter or too sweet, just the right balance, creamy and cake like at the same time. Then there is that presentation as well...fancy little tin. Brilliant!! This would easily be double the price if it were sold in NYC or SF.
Can't wait to try the other stuff...
