I do not normally leave reviews, good or bad, but as I sit here in upmost satisfaction finishing my beer after another wonderful meal at Cinco’s Cantina I have to make an exception.
This is simply THE BEST Mexican food you’ll find anywhere in New England!! Not at all like your generic run of the mill Mexican spots that litter southern NH. This is leagues better than any Mexican food I’ve had in Southern California and it is very good out there. I sadly have not been to Mexico but I cannot imagine it being any better. And this is simply speaking to the quality of the food; which you can tell has, not only, the freshest of ingredients but you can also tell it is prepared with pride! I personally recommend the chicken street tacos, served right with corn tortillas, black beans and the most wonderful rice you’ll ever taste. Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, the home made hot sauces are out of this world. The green tomatillo sauce that comes with the tacos and the spicy habanero sauce that you must request should be bottled and sold they are that good!
Moving on from the food, the owner, Cresensio (hopefully I didn’t butcher the spelling!), is an absolute gentleman and a true restauranteur. It shines bright that the owner is heavily involved in every aspect of the business. From its amazing food, to the impeccably clean dining room and bar, right down to the wonderful staff he employs, Cresencio leaves nothing short of perfection. Prices are also very fair for this level of quality and service. There are very few restauranteurs left out there that are so passionate about what they provide to the communities they serve. No matter how busy he may be or how many people want to say hi to him he has always greeted every customer with a big smile and friendly conversation in my experience! Truly impressive and simply a man at the top of his craft.
I live over an hour away and only stumbled on this gem while attending races at New England Dragway. Mexican was always one of my favorite foods but I’m very fussy about it. Most Mexican restaurants are the same and very disappointing once you’ve become accustomed to truly great Mexican cuisine. Much like comparing an Italian dish at Olive Garden to a true Italian dish in the north end of Boston or federal hill in Rhode Island. I would happily say that Cinco’s is my favorite Mexican restaurant but that doesn’t do it the justice it deserves. Cinco’s has no become my favorite restaurant overall no matter the category! To put it simply, this year, rather than going to the Capital Grille or Ruth’s Chris Steak house down in Boston for my birthday I chose Cinco’s instead!! That should truly speak to how wonderful the experience is here and how addictive (in a good way) their food is. Not only was my birthday meal as perfect as any other I’ve experienced at Cinco’s, Cresensio was so nice to gift me two soup size to go containers full of their aforementioned tomatillo and habanero sauces to take home with me! Like I said he’s a class act.
Living over an hour away my only complaint would be that I cannot visit more often. Although, I typically do venture out specifically for my favorite meal at least two times a month. I’ve never regretted the drive!
Cresensio if you’re reading this please never change a thing!!! And PLEASE PLEASE open your inevitable 3rd location West of Nashua and I promise to visit at least once per week!

Read moreSo yesterday being Sunday, I had to work all day and thought it wouldn’t it be nice to try that new restaurant and not cook when I got home. Placed an order and went down there picked it up , came home and my husband‘s meal was missing. He had ordered fajitas. The fixings were there but the chicken peppers and onions were not. I ordered coconut shrimp and taquitos. I had to call up. Tell them my food was missing, they told me to come back and they would make it. I went back and by now. I’m very aggravated. I get the said fajitas and go home. by now. My taquitos are a soggy mess and I couldn’t eat them because they were covered with sour cream, there was no way to make them crispy and fresh again , my coconut shrimp was cold and there’s no way to reheat shrimp And have it as good as it was in the first place. Needless to say, I did not eat and I will never go there again. I was not gonna say anything but today when I saw the $71 taken out of my account it just pissed me off how bad My experience was and I never ate. By the way, coconut shrimp states it comes with mango pineapple, salsa, and what you actually serve is kind of like coconut milk with pineapple juice in it. There’s nothing salsa about it.. When I worked in the restaurant industry, I did things different, when I managed things. I looked at what went wrong throughout the day and I would’ve Tried to rectify it. This is no reflection to the hostess because she was apologetic and tried as best she could.iIts just that one thing that went wrong ruined my whole evening. My uncle ordered the backyard burrito and did say...
Read moreUpdate we have placed a few orders via doordash since the original review. 2 of the 3 ordered placed online they simply have sent us someone else’s order or just screwed up. The other order placed via doordash was canceled at 6pm as doordash said restaurant was closed after waiting 2 hrs for the order which was not true..
Cinco’s had sent us a very nice gift card previously for the issues we experienced online. The gift card was usable in store only…
The food was absolutely amazing in restaurant.. We have been in store 5 times since this review and we absolutely love the food quality in store……. We will absolutely be back in restaurant….
While the food is great in store….. Not positive the waitstaff actually understands or cares about service. They all seem to be there by the hour… But it’s “covid” we cut some slack….. And will be back. In store only!!!
2.5 Inconsistency is the main issue. Typically I only write if it’s great. If it’s bad the community already knows. We have ordered roughly the same items via doordash a dozen or so times. Each time has yielded wildly different experiences. We get it “COVID” many things have changed.....Tonight we received rotten avocado including the pit/stem..... Maybe it’s lazy, don’t care, didn’t see it....... $40 for some lettuce, chicken, beef, tomato, salsa, and cheese..... It’s really getting hard to justify...
