Five stars for quality and deliciousness of cake and an extra mile of service. Here’s the story (and I’m not usually one for long, storied reviews). But this deserves it.

My daughter received one of DP’s “cupped cakes” this week as a reward at school and we both agreed it was one of the most delicious cakes we have ever tasted (it was the birthday cake flavor). The cake was moist and the frosting was the right amount of sweet and vanilla-y (American buttercream).

Two days later was my birthday and after learning how delicious I thought the cake was, my husband decided to place an online order (on the day of my birthday) for a cake. I hoped it would be just as good as my daughter’s cupped cake and it did not disappoint us. The cake itself was dense and moist. The frosting looked absolutely perfect on the outside and it was delicious.

The cake looked (deceptively) smallish and I wondered if it would be enough for 9 of us. It absolutely was! My suggestion would be to cut smaller servings like they do with wedding cake because the cake is so dense and the frosting is thick and rich that the not-really-huge wedge that was on my plate somehow magically seemed like 2-3 pieces of regular cake. I mean this as a complete compliment, even though this might not make sense until you have tried it. I am the kind of gal who does not shy away from a second serving of cake on my birthday. If you are a “just cut me a slIver” type of person you will be really proud of yourself when you are completely satisfied with just a couple bites. Just trust me in the cutting small pieces thing.

Lastly, service. This cake was prepared so fresh that when my family member went to pick it up, it wasn’t quite ready yet. I only live a couple minutes away, so she said she didn’t mind at all if she had to swing back by, but they insisted on delivering it to my front doorstep. It was so kind of them.

Some of the best cakes and treats you can get locally. Danay is a true artist. The cakes taste amazing and the custom ones look gorgeous. One guitar cake she made looked almost exactly like a guitar. Her cinnamon rolls are amazing as well and she has a devout customers that practically get them every weekend. My friends say the pecan rolls are super tasty as well and the perfect level of sweetness. I love that they often have gluten free options so I can have a treat every now and again as well. My daughter loves the cookie decorating kits. They're wonderful activities after being locked in the house for most of 2020. DP’s Sweet Life is a wonderful company! I have used them for my daughter’s 1st Birthday cake and smash cake. She worked with my birthday theme (Farm Animals) and far exceeded my expectations! The design and little animals were absolutely amazing! My daughter LOVED them! She also devoured her smash cake. Both cakes were delicious. I also ordered a dozen custom-designed cookies for a Baby shower and they turned out GREAT! I highly recommend this company! The owner is VERY talented and makes your vision come to life, her prices are reasonable, and her husband usually hand delivers the items and he could not be nicer or more grateful for the business! We will definitely be using them for more sweets...
